It is simple common sense. Such acts are like magic illusions and neither media nor any scientific research organization talked about it. If it is talent and has logic behind why its not taught as a subject or technique to all. If something is made hidden for mass audience it means its mear trick and illusion.

kbncee - Don't think that you can't do this, means no one else can do it. This is easy anyone who knows the tables can do it. actually there is no much calculations needed here if you know your tables. I have seen number of middle school students who can calculate large numbers in their head.
