Fact, UA had many more National Merit Scholars than AU in Fall of 2009, and every Fall that I know of. Again, check the sites for verification.

UA's acceptance rate is much lower than AU's. The only reason AU's avg. ACT score is a bit higher, is because so many more students actually enroll at UA rather than AU. A much greater percentage of students admitted to AU, choose not to go there. UA certainly enrolls more National Merit Scholars.

Meanwhile, Auburn is ranked #39 in the nation and that school down the road is #43. My degree, for the record, has nothing to do with agriculture (not that there's anything with it). Actually, UA gets many more National Merit Scholars than AU, despite the same amount of scholarship money at both schools.
