  • Did you break your hard drive How can i take out the motor any tutorial video ?

  • The platters on a hard disk are usually mounted by three screws on top of the middle ring on the platters. Each platter is separated with spacers.

  • HDD motor's are 3 phase, he connected up just one coil which means that he had to give the motor a little push by hand to start it up. The coil is connected to his amplifier which is connected to his computer. On the computer you can use Cooledit or a similar application to generate a raw wave signal. I've been fiddling with those motors in the past too.

  • yes

  • how did you remove the spindle? the ones that I have are firmly attached. I think i'm missing something.

  • a hammer...

  • Did you look underneath the platters? That's where the screws will be, if any. Some new drives have the motors built as part of the casing.

  • Can you provide us with a simple diagram? I;m sure people like to know what was used to make the HD motor work.

  • cool =)

  • how did you connect the motor?

  • Yes tell us how do you connect it
