Teach young people to use condoms and other forms of protection instead so they can enjoy sex risk-free.

People can be so self-righteous and comically indignant in judging young people for having sex, when it's really not their business! A conversation worth having is why so many teens practice unprotected sex. Teaching abstinence is not useful. It is unrealistic for most people because sex is AWESOME (and pretty much the only reason we exist - because of it and to do it). Teach young people to use condoms and other forms of protection instead so they can enjoy sex risk-free.

My parents brought me up with morals, and that is why I decided not to have sex until I was fully ready. Hell, my parents didn't even NEED to talk to me about sex, I already knew promiscuity it wasn't what I wanted.

i find this to be a misguided statement, because sometimes even if you are the greatest mother or father in the world it still doesnt change how their child feels about themselves. You are one of few that has great parents and a great self esteem, but their are far to many who have great parents but hate themselves or have horrible parents and still hate themselves and sometimes you have the great luck of the draw where there are horrible parents but a great kid.

In Russia adults blame modern youth for free sexual behavior, because they grew up in Soviet times, when sex was a taboo. So there is a huge difference between values of generations in Russia.
But I still can't understand the reason of sexual conservatism in America. Sex was not a taboo in your country 20-30 years ago, so I'm sure that modern parents already had sex when they were teenagers. Why do they blame their teenage children for it today? Don't they remember their own youth? :)

@northerncomfort96 I've come to think by experience and by my friends and family members that are women, have become more demanding "bossy". We're in modern times where the males aren't always going to be the one "pushing" for sex all the time....so if girls don't set up good examples of themselves it affects what boys will expect from girls in relationships. If a girl gives it up and its the first relationship a boy ever had he would probably expect future girlfriends to do the same.

That still gives an average of 15. But still I agree... it could be that maybe there weren't any girls over 20 in the survey to pull the average up.
