Going with Mario, Sonic may be faster than him but Jinx was much faster and much stronger than Sonic and that didn't help him, enemies with lightning attacks didn't beat Mario either, enemies with teleport didn't succeed either..I fucking love Sonic(Classic) but in my case I don't see him beating the guy who inspired his creation(Mario) so I pick brains and brawn over speed.
I would say Sonic clearly cause he's faster...and if Mario and Sonic ever fought, in my case Sonic would win cause he's faster which means you get hit less. So I'd take Speed over Power anytime anywhere

Also, phasing is not related to speed, it's more of a teleportation thing. And let's remember Super Sonic - Lore wise 1000% stronger and faster - This is not accurate in any of the games, Sega hand to tone his speed down to make it playable.

Jinx on the other hand can reach speeds to where he's too fast for the human eye the moment he moves and he doesn't lose speed either! Sonic has saved a buncha planets, in Sonic Colors he saved 5 of them. He has bested machines that would be too fast for Mario, and Super Sonic straight out rips through everything. Sonic can run at the speed of light, Mario can barely make a 7 foot jump. Sure Mario has power ups ,but Sonic can dodge fireballs and anything else Mario has possessed in the past. The only challenge for Sonic would be the Star, but if Mario can use alternate powers why can't Sonic go Super or Hyper? If they ever did actually throw down, Sonic would win but show much respect for the plumber . Sonic would win, Hands down.

Not once has Mario ever disappointed people with one its premier main titles. (Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy etc.) Mario's mistakes were few and far between, while Sonic's mistakes consisted of GAMES IN THE MAIN SERIES, happened one after the other, and have been utterly catastrophic.

Sonic has as many powerups as mario do, and without powerups Sonic kicks his ass - That speed is too good to be kept up with, simply put. Let's see. Sonic has saved a buncha planets, in Sonic Colors he saved 5 of them. He has bested machines that would be too fast for Mario, and Super Sonic straight out rips through everything. What more is there to say? Mario is strong and he's got a lot of good things going for him, but he's not on par with Sonic.

just sayin you cant hurt what you cant hit, and other than the MANY things they left out of sonics side, it wouldnt even matter, give mario all of his gadgets and powers and it still doesnt mean shit if he cant hit sonic, and lets put phyisics into the equation, Sonic + running at top speed (768mph, speed of sound) + punch to anywhere on mario's person = mario dieing instantly from either the force of the impact or the blood loss from one of his limbs being ripped off by the force of the impact

@Maplewolf282 Dude have you seen Sonic before? Amys fought deadly robots that would make peach rage quit. The robots in Sonic have more of a killing intent with all the machine guns, Lazers,fire,claws,knives, You name it. Marios monsters just take a few jump ons to kill, or press a switch.

Sonic can run at the speed of light, Mario can barely make a 7 foot jump. Sure Mario has power ups ,but Sonic can dodge fireballs and anything else Mario has possessed in the past. The only challenge for Sonic would be the Star, but if Mario can use alternate powers why can't Sonic go Super or Hyper? If they ever did actually throw down, Sonic would win but show much respect for the plumber . Sonic would win, Hands down.

Not once has Mario ever disappointed people with one its premier main titles. (Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy etc.) Mario's mistakes were few and far between, while Sonic's mistakes consisted of GAMES IN THE MAIN SERIES, happened one after the other, and have been utterly catastrophic.
