Sorry to say, but SOG throwers are shit. They're prone to breaking because of the huge "O" milled out of the handles. SOG puts their stupid insignia on everything they make and in this particular case it amounts to nothing but a huge design flaw.

You want good throwers, look at United Cutlery or Boker. Alternatively, if you have the know-how, you could buy a couple of steel bars and grind your own set of knives. Throwers don't need to be super high quality, they just need to not break easily.

The blades are medium weight, they rotate fairly slow but the penetration at slow speeds is impressive. Not sure all the commotion on the rotations. If it penetrates wood over an inch while barely throwing them, who cares how many times it rotates? Obviously Special Ops teams don't use them but if you needed to, even if it didn't hit a person blade first..it would scare the living sh!t out of someone.
