@1awareness I used to see it every day from my bedroom window until my brother decided to swap rooms with me. Now I get to see houses and a pawn shop.
you can't compare the two cuz Down is so much more mellow and introspective and Pantera was harder and more aggressive. and also Pantera is the greatest band ever!!!!!!!!
This song just speaks volumes about how I've been living life and how I think and feel about every little damn thing, how depressing it all is. Then I listen to this song, and I feel powerful enough to kick it all in the ass. This song is me. Down is me. Their music breathes life into my spirit, holds my head up, and spits on life's ills. Thank you Down, for giving me life.
@DimeLivesInUs You share my thoughts exactly! I have a close friend, she's currently in that hopeless state, I'm trying to get her to listen to this and more of Down's music. It helps me and hope it helps her!
@DimeLivesInUs fkyeah i feel the same way its all about not taking shit from anyone cause in the end everyone is out for themselves or u wont survive dont let shit get u depressed it does nothing for u
@CarltonBanksBelAir i hope you die a very horrible death i dont see souljah boy bein round when he's 40-50 inspiring the scene he's in still hahaha all hail down, pantera, superjoint and PHIL!
@CarltonBanksBelAir Nah, I'll take a band that writes and performs their music without autotune, ghost writers and electroniclly produced beats anyday. Besides that, any member of Down would own them in a heart beat,
@metallicaguyanddude Doesn't matter what it is, it's just awesome, everything's perfect, drums, voice, guitars and bass, everything's unique and that' just Down :'D
Im proud to have been born and raised in the great state of Mississippi. As soon as i turn 18 im goin back home to Tupelo, Mississippi. Erie, Pennsylvania aint treatin me an my family right.
@BlakkToothGrinn69 thanx man,i never knew they had an album coming out, now i cant wait to check that out, i always like'd his guitar playing, anyways have a good one brother...cheers
I don't think it's ever as simple as saying people are either better or worse when they're fucked outta thier heads on anything. In some ways it's pretty clear that when they're absolutely shit-faced musicians (maybe people in all the arts) are way more inspired/creative and it's a fact heroin kinda loosens up the vocal chords (hence Lane Staley singin such crazy vox and sounding so relaxed with it) BUT taking heroic volumes of narcotics is obviously gonna have it's downsides like timing issues
im gonna have to disagree with blazemaster on that one. this is a live video with a recorded song in the background so that voice your hearing is phill all smacked out like a champion!
@xavier5505 smack aint a good thing but musicians really are at their best when they are all fucked up on heroin look at the list motley crue layne stayley sid viscious iggy pop the list goes on and on

@dmagyer technically they are right because they probally meant no southern rock that comes out any more is even worth listening to...if thats the case then theyre right because down has been around for a while, its not new.
@michaelb1479 nope wrong song it definately reminds me of something off of the great southern trendkill or one of the newer pantera albums. especially that first riff.
@WYarranton i think he's saying the sound of phil and all that good crap isnt the same without dime. phil and dime just went good together you know? RIP Dimebag.
@dime4732 you are a cunt. I'm sure the first time you heard of dimebag darrell was a week and a half ago. I hope your dick gets cut off, then I find it so I can choke you with your own dick and you never speak again. don't call him dime like he was your fucking buddy, you poser faggot.
@esvidales of course he does. I was just replying to the pile of dog feces that said "this song isn't the same without dime. derp derp." and this tool has the audacity to have dime's name in his youtube account name.
people forget that there's so much more to down than just phil anselmo, who happens to be a tota ick head!! there are other members of the band, too, who deserve the praise for being able to stand phil for 3 albums!!
@Ms14thAngel Im sorry but with every thing Phils done in music, he has a right to be ego-maniac as you say. Phil also gives proper credit to his band mates, he always talks about the boys in Down, Superjoint, Vikings Crown and he still hypes up Opal and Southern Isolation. Just saying.
@Ms14thAngel Yeah he's such an ego maniac. That's why he always talks about his bandmates and how important they are to him both personally and professionally, etc. Because yeah a complete ego maniac does THAT.
@PanteraChick Who asked you? Philip Anslois not fucking Jesus, so geta fucking grip! It's not like I said I wanted him dead or anything! Fuck!! Is no-one allowed to have an opinion anymore?!?! Jesus Christ!

@Ms14thAngel Your just mad because he wouldn't let you suck his dick backstage at the Down concert you trailer trash syphillis whore! No go fuck your daddy you inbred bitch!

yeah phil is smart, if that a genius in his own right, i love phil, but out of Down, I love fucken Kirk for his work in Crowbar, and Pepper for his mad shit in Corrosion and Jimmy for his work in both, and well Rex for Pantera and Down
Now this is almost what you'd call a super group. and who has helped all these bands get to where they are now oh yeah, i forgot Phil did. read before you flame. goose cunt.
i ve seen them live 2 times, once with Metallica at Sofia, and once with AC/DC at Bucharest..they are great, no question about it, but the live sound system suck, they deserve better, no question about it, they should do something about it...
Jimmy Bower is an extremely intricate drummer. I love his fills and beats, but why does he have all the wierd lookin shit on his bass drum all the time? hahaha
@Ms14thAngel how bout both of you shut the fuck up and listen to the fucking music noone wants to see two people bitch about something stupid. shut the fuck up and listen. and dont fuckin message me back bitching at me cuz i dont give a fuck what either one of has to say
@thememoryremains100 Hmmmmm I kinda feel ya. They were totally different in sound, and I think NOLA is a thing of a past. By that I mean, NOLA was harder edged and raw, down II and III were more thought out and meaningful. To be honest, I don't know what I like more. NOLA is solid all the way through but down II and III have songs that are stand outs. I feel like some of the guitar solos ruin some shit on II and III though. Either way, cheers to you.
meirace: You're clueless. My dad taught my Sunday school class when I was little. I was brought up in a Christian household and my dad had no problem with me listening to metal when I reached my teenage years. I'm proud to say I'm 35 yrs old now and work for the technology dept. in a very prominent school district. I'm sorry you think metal is for children of 'fucked up parents'. Maybe you're the one who's fucked up?
@ meirace: So, growing up in a loving household, with great parents, by your theory I shouldn't like metal? Frankly, upbringing has nothing to do with ones taste in music. If that was the case, I'd be listing to country and old bluegrass. Metal is simply there. I listen to it to help ease my mind when I'm in a bad mood, instead of taking it out on someone else or myself. It balances me, like I'm sure it does for many others. If it's not your taste, then so be it. Go enjoy your music.
jerk, pantera was really amazing!! this SHIT is sooooo fucking poor... only cocksuckers like you can't find the differences between dime's riffs/solos and this crap
Well, I saw them in Prague (that time had Phil long hair) and it was like a dream. I sang every single word with Phil. Last night I dramed about him and Dime, suddenly, I don't exactly know why. And I wish them to come back to Czech republic again soon. Then I will engoy another dream which comes true.
haha thats rad man i remember when my love for pantera his its peak when i was bit younger and i use to have these dreams about jamming with dime and phil and it was in this shed setting over looking this beach near my house it was pretty cool use to feel so fucking real like just still blows my mind aye.... down , pantera, SJR best fucking bands period!
The intro riff is just so fucking sick man, since the Down II album came out,it has never left my possession, that quite possibly the best album ive ever heard man,far none, every song is fucking killer, but then again, pretty much anything that Mr. Anselmo Mr. Bower Power, and Mr. Weindstein and Rex and Mr. Keenan touch is pure fucking gold man,it just turns into pure utter perfection whatever project they're in,long live the southern metal gods that is Down.
I seen DOWN this past Monday night in Louisville, and so fvcking love Phil Anselmo! I got my friend to boost me up to the front and I yelled to Phil I love him. *HORNS HELD HIGH* -=Osia=-
i saw them in new york one of the best shows i been to set list was perfect the pit was sick i was right up in front and it was 9/11 so the melvins did the national anthem and down came on stage for it it was such a good show i was like the youngest kid there lol
Saw them last night in Knoxville, along with The Melvins, Haarp, and Evil Army. Front row. That was an INSANE concert! Phil was maybe 3 feet in front of me.
same :( i wanna say i really hope that they'll do a reunion tour in the future but i doubt it, it just wont be teh same without dimbag :( plus if they do get someoen to play guitar for the reunion alot of people will be pissed off cause they'll probly think they replaced him, oh well :(

meirace: You're clueless.

Saw them last night in Knoxville, along with The Melvins, Haarp, and Evil Army. Front row. That was an INSANE concert! Phil was maybe 3 feet in front of me.
