  • Awesome.

  • AH Yes, Taking The D Train On My Way To Coney Island And Have A Little Fun. Those Were The Days.

  • One name Premo

  • hell yeah, and I'm from da Bronx so this is my shit man.

  • Classic east coast sound.

  • I'm actually in love with this ...

At first I thought "What the hell?!" and then it got to be so cool

It has the groove of the original song and in the same time the coolness and calmness .. of something ... truly makes me feel like I'm in a subway in NY in the 80s (never been there) drafting away with your mind into some distant place ...

Or simply just the latter part .. I just feel like I'm in my own world listening to this O_O

    Thanks for uploading this :D

  • Eat this, you "Dilla Saved My Life" tshirt hipsters.

  • @SlikkTim You do realize that Pete pulled his album to add more cuts after hearing Dilla's BBE album? Don't segregate the two legends.

  • @sharkhunterz I love jay dee but yo I just don't like all those fake dudes that were all over him after he died.

  • @SlikkTim Dilla is dope, hipsters are not.

  • I love this song. Makes me feel like I'm really in NYC or the NY Subway.

  • @kanyewestpowerman I went to school in NY and I miss going to the city. I always play pete rock to reminisce. City music.

  • @spetsnaz5 I feel you, I just left Ny last week visiting fam, Im already missing it...and this is coming from a LA kid

  • this reminds me of taking the red line train to boston...then switching to the green lines, sometimes D train. I know its not the same one...but it gives me the 90's feeling when i wasn't even a teen yet.

His beats tend to give flashbacks almost. i love it.

  • this is too cold and ill to even rhyme too

  • What a beat I had this on repeat all day on my pc and all night in my head.

This track seem to be a tribute to the band called D Train which were around in the 80's. D Train - your the one for me check this song out some sounds are sampled by pete.

  • @Neanderthalsthoughts It IS a tribute to that song ..

Pete's song is called "Take the D Train" :)

A brilliant song ... and a brilliant remix by Pete as well :)

  • This is Funky!

  • man i love pete rock and dj premier but they have different styles premo is scratchy and mixy old school and pete rock is melo and jazzy

  • Pete Rock is mad nice

  • I don't know if it's just me and my group of friends, but this has a completely different use in our lingo.

  • sucks cuz i usually take the Q train

  • @4thwonder - LMAO! I be on the F....

  • Yo I just took The D train just yesterday//Had to go to a theatrical audition an it went so so//But this other bitch thought she was the shit so I had to call her a Witch//Othello "Poor Yorick" I had to do//took the skull and blazed the audition crew//sorta like one flew...ova the cookoo's nest//bes believe I put my frame of thought like Lord Finesse//They told me "Who's your inspiration in theatre".........

  • music that doesn't reach this level of beauty should be illegal....but then again, there would be nothing left to play on the radio...

  • this dude and how he incorporates samples amazes me. genius.

  • Name me a drum machine that has better timing than the SP1200? That shit is swinging!

  • I couldn't tell you how many times I've listened to Petestrumentals and Surviving Elements front-to-back every week. Pete does something to your mind with this stuff. He crawls into your brain and shows you what he sees. PR's beats are haunting, strait up.

  • Hot! Nothing else to say..Burnt my fingers

  • This is one of the best tracks I have heard for a long time.

  • dope.

  • Yeah, I used to take the D Train from Coney Island to South Bronx. Tight Music!!!!

  • MADNESS PETE R

  • you're the one for me!

  • ONE OF THE BEST PRODUCERS OF ALL TIME

  • This is the shit. No one does it better!

  • i think i have 1000 out of the 6500 views bcuz i listen to this song all the fuckin time.

  • Wow! And nobody even knows about this one!

  • i love hip hop old school!!!

  • Damn I lover this song!!!!!

  • This years Grammy's should seriously give PETE ROCK a Lifetime-Acheivement Award...until Pete Rock is given something like that...i will view those Award ceromonies a hoax.

there should be an Artist of the Century nominee and would obviously be the winner.

DAMN, his beats are so inspiring.

they can turn a struggling, depressed, confused man into an uplifted, and enlightened one.

There should be a Pete Rock Day (and would prob be celebrated on the date his 1st album came out or B-Day).

  • You are spot on my friend!!!!!!

  • im with u, man. and i usually don't care for these types of musics (ESPECIALLY rap, ew) (im normally almost all jazz). this is an awesome beat, gotta love. at first when i saw the name i was thinking of this being a rap remake of 'A' train, i was like wtf. but no, this is good

  • SP1200 fo that ass!

  • bella li..good vibrations

  • That's my shit right there!

  • mellow

  • Hands down, one of my fav beats. This was the first beat I heard from pete rock, loved his music ever since!

  • nice one man!

  • Everytime I Hear This Joint, I Get Amped Up Real

    Quick. Big Up To P.R..

  • I love the beginning, it's so f*cking messy and after a few seconds it makes so much sense!

  • @rafaelito1981 NO wonder it's called Take the D train...you ever see them N Y Subway maps..lol

  • Wow, this is off tha hook !

  • damn that bass is genious

  • hypnotic

  • Hearin beats like these make me feel inspired and like a piece of shit at the same time because I could never go up this level in beat making

  • one of my favorite tracks on the album, and the intro is soooo damn good
