i think that people see the God and Goddess just like how christians see God and Jesus. both very important deities in the mythologies, but one seems to be more exiting, or psycologically satisfying.
Another book I have always liked on this topic is "Sacred Paths for Modern Men: A Wake Up Call from Your 12 Archetypes by Dagonet Dewr" it is really a wonderful book for those who did not have a strong male role in their life as well as for those who are a bit confused about their role. I highly recommend.

It's important also for women to be more aware of our 'brothers' in the Craft especially if we ever hope to create 'balance' between us in all aspects of our lives in which we share with men; as they are our fathers, brothers, friends, lovers, husbands, and sons. :)
