A few tips, tweak the contrasts so each picture matches the video. Calibrate the angles of the cameras before gluing them(preferably, mount them with a screw(tripod mount screw) to a piece of wood. And also, no foreground objects.
You could also use software that morphs photos into each others and render them into an animation(there are free software for that), then you could put more distance between the cameras(and increase the effect dramatically both in fluidness/duration and angle).
I did it with my school. We raided the Photo Club camera closet and stole 30 cameras. Instead of one film camera we had two, one on each end of a 30 camera semi-circle. It went 180 degrees around someone jumping, and then the video continued.
Oh Ok.. In that case, I am no one to question your teacher's reasons for giving that idea, because a teacher is one who has the best interests of his/her students in mind well atleast s/he is supposed to.
BTW, it must have been one great video that you guys shot with all those cams. Care to post it on youtube sometime?
@elazeez no i just felt that you were giving ou the fag vibe. just so that you are aware my IQ is 138, which is two short of genius. i base my opinions on facts which present themselves, whereas you base your unworthy opinion on a misguided sense of morality and essentially what you feel like at the time. what i am trying to say is, i had your mother
I should have taken note of the adage "Never argue with fools, because they drag you down to their levels (of foolishness) and then beat you with their good experience!"
Yes, you beat me real bad, you person with an IQ 'too short of genius'... and that's not a typo.

Besides, I don't even know where you came from or how I originally ruffled your feathers in the first place. In case I did something unintentionally that hurt your sentiments, know this that it wasn't personal.
That's why this technique was never really used before the Matrix. The Wachowski bros had the budget to make rigs with identical cameras, unlike previous attempts which always had inconsistencies. Anything else uses CGI, photoshop and other computer effects to blend the shots properly.
This is actually exactly how they do it in Hollywood. The pros obviously don't use disposable cameras or clothes pins but they both use the same concept.
Yeah. I think the pros use sometimes upwards of 100 D-SLR cameras all mounted to a curved steel frame that "wraps" around the subject.
The cameras all have electronic, timed shutters so they can have a still fly around or they take a picture seamlesly one after another so it creates a slo-mo fly around.
It's a very simple, primitive concept that creates an amazingly futuristic effect.
No... that's how they record plain slow motion. This video teaches how to create the slow motion fly-around effect that was made popular by the Matrix.
2 camera effects were used in the movie (and subsequent movies). One was a fairly traditional highspeed camera, and the other was a rig consisting of several cameras all set up to take a photograph at the exact same time, with the same settings (exp, iso, so on). I believe they were digital and computer-controlled. After that, they added in CGI to fill in the gaps and erased the visible cameras.
agreed. but the video was to see if the concept would work...it did, but with less than great results. if it were done with a dozen dslr camera's, it would be an excellent effect. but alas, i am cheap.
No offence I love your vids... but I think you need to put up another example vid. This one didn't really have much of an effect to properly demonstrate the "matrix effect" imo. Then again perhaps I'm just crazy.
He used low quality camera's and a higher quality video recorder that's why the grain is different. This is more like a Chuck Norris effect though. In the matrix they are fully moving. Not a bad video, but also not a great one, I'll give it 3 stars.
CyanProductions is right. to keep it cheap, i used disposable cameras. otherwise you'd be spending hundreds of dollars per camera. while it would be more effective, it would also cost somewhere between the one thousand and ten thousand dollar range.
Why dont u record it, with muliple cameras, then morph it? looks much better

Acually it's not made like that...They use special cameras that capture thousands more frames per second that a regular camera.
