And you can't hold it upside down, that's crap too. Try it, it's the same upside down as it is the other way up. The question is which side to attach it to the mast from. The wrong way is the same way up but rotating it left to right, nit upside down.
@TheCAGS95 ooooh, and I suppose the original Americans weren't from the UK? and besides, you only won the independence because you had to ask a russian general to come and help you win the fight. AND we were the super power of the world for over 400 hundred years and you've only been it for what? 60-70 years??
Holy Crap, I cannot believe the comments created for this video! You would think that we are still fihting for independence..let it go people. The war between our nations ended centuries ago....your great great great great great great grandfathers have moved on, now it's your turn
The British flag is not called a Union Jack, it's correctly called a Union Flag. "Jack" is a British naval term for a flag, the Union Flag is only called a "Union Jack" when it is flown from the bow (front) of a boat or a ship.
That comment is true it is the "Union Flag", but it is now excepted through the British parliament that it can now also be called "Union Jack" as this is it's more commonly used name.
The Admiralty itself frequently referred to the flag as the Union Jack, whatever its use, and in 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that Their Lordships had decided that either name could be used officially. Such use was given Parliamentary approval in 1908 when it was stated that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag".
I hope this becomes the top comment so British people 'actualy' learn about thier own flag!.

That's crap about the boat thing. It was called the union jack before that, but it's a widely accepted rumour now.

As a Brit I'm so glad to see the flag being held the right way up instead of upside down.

@PeeimpHair364 ... no, not really, to be honest you wouldn't of won if that Russian general never helped you.

seanjames101, while i was in the Army, thats exactly how they folded the Union flag, its not done in the same as American flags.
I dont think our Military would throw away a good few hundred years of tradition.
