  • Thanks for the review. I have one of these arriving tomorrow and was wondering if you have any advice about putting the soundbar above or below the TV? ... or maybe there is no difference ...

    Thanks!

  • @markifrazer hey my man, whats up!! congrats on your purchase, hope u enjoy! my advice 2 u about where 2 place the soundbar would be 2 take into account where your tv is positioned?? up high, down low, wall mount, on a stand, etc... my tv is mounted on the wall, about 3ft. higher than my head when im seated. i decided 2 place my sounbar over the tv because I thought it would give me a broader sound experience, and becauseit fit well there. so far, so good!! experiment & let me know

  • @marques4470 this tv is on the wall in a bedroom. So when in bed the center of the tv (which is a 50" samsung plasma) is about 1 foot above my head. I have tried the system and it works very well - it was definitely worth setting up the speaker distance and levels to get the best balance to the sound. I have tried it with the bar above and below the tv and it actually sounds a little better above the tv - so I will be fixing it there permanently - nothing beats a little experimentation! Thanks!

  • I like it. How does the sound compare to the sound from a decent AV receiver using 5.1? I am guessing that unless JVC is using some sort of technology to widen the sound field, it cannot give a great 5.1 experience because the left and right channels are so close. What are your thoughts? I was glad to find your reviews. I have not found many real reviews of this product on the net. Thanks again.

  • @mattrenko hey! JVC does use thier own surround sound technology, incorporated with 5.1, but still with TRUE rear channel, center, front l/r, and sub separation!! your right, it isn't great, which isn't to say it's bad either. in fact, at least in my opinion, they actually do more than a fair job of it! somewhere in the range of pretty good to good!! and you are also correct about a lack of distinctive center channel because of being so close give a listen if you get a chance! hope this helps!!

  • Very nice,I think I am going to get this on Amazon.Look forward to seeing more from you about the TH BA-3.

  • Thanx 4 the comment Chris! Pos or Neg feedback always helps! Let me know if there is anything u would find more helpful in my presentations, or even helpful hints or ideas! I will hopefully b posting more on the BA-3 soon. thx again & take care!
