@needparalegal Just imagine if whoever designed these peep sights had a brain he would put cross hairs on the rear aperture. Then you would just have to line the cross hairs up with the front post on the target.
@needparalegal Have you ever shot one of these rifles? You know that marines are trained to hit targets out to 600 yards right? The small focal point in the rear sight is what makes it so accurate....
@Oliverpansoff I got an NRA "expert" classification when I was on the rifle team in high school. We had to use peep sights on bolt action rifles. It is complete bullshit to have to estimate the amount of empty space surrounding the front post in the damn ring. I could design a better sight in my sleep. I actually score higher with open sights.
when i learned marksmanship i was told to focus on the target and be able to put the stock of the weapon in my sholder so well that everything lines up perfectly so i wont have to look at my sights. in fact i was yelled at if i did focus on the sights more than the target.
@jimmyshousevideos The problem with focusing on the target instead of the front sight post is you lose track of your sight alignment. You can usually tell if thats somones problem because the rounds tend to impact around the target area without a set pattern. Its also known as chasing the target.

@kthapar01 call of duty doesn't teach anything. You usually know who learned from cod and who actually learned when people talk about guns.

@wlindenlaub Sounds like he is talking about shotgun sighting. You focus on the target because its moving.

If a 5 year old Arab kid can do it I think 23 year old Americans can do it better.
