The reason why I suggested you read the Quraan in arabic is that the translation will make the meaning weaker and sometimes it changes it no matter how much the translator was faithful and efficient. However, this fact don't put you in diasadvantage since there are millions of muslims who can't speak arabic

This is a funny passage "There is from among them a party on the right course..." I take it that the Christians on the evil course are those who proclaim Jesus, Lord. So here is the funny part: who then are the good Christians for the Quran? Can you name one? Is the Quran trying to say that there are Christians who don't think of Jesus as Lord? Then those wouldn't be Christians! So then the Quran is mistaken about what makes Christians, true Christians.

If Islam helps u be good to yourself and others, praised be Allah. The God I believe in is universal. Catholics believe there are servants of God in other faiths. John 10 "I know my sheep and my sheep know me...I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. They too will listen to my voice...and there shall be one flock and one shepherd." God is the good sheperd; his servants are the sheep, not all from the same pen now, but 1 day :) This is why I say our actions will bring us together. :)
What is wrong with Islam? I don't know enough to say what is wrong, but from what you have said. Islam reminds me of a lady named Martha in the bible. Islam worries too much about "outside" stuff: washing feet, not eating pork, praying on a mat (preparing the body if you will). Jesus said to Martha "“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed..." (AN OPEN HEART to the word of God) You should read the story Luke 10: 41
I can also say one thing that saddens me about my true muslim friends. A lot of them have a hobby of posting degrading videos of Christians (not Catholic). It is as if the enjoy ridiculizing them. Do you think that these actions will bring them closer to heaven? If you look at pages of practicing Catholics, we do not deliberately instigate or ridiculize anybody. Not muslims, not Jews, not other Christians. Some Catholics "by name" do, but out of ignorance & must ask for forgivess.
Wisdom is indeed a gift from God to all who wants it. BUT whosoever receives it has a BIG responsibility: "Who is wise and understanding among you? My questions 2U R: If u believe in Jesus, why don't u FOLLOW his word, which is the WORD OF GOD as the Noble Quran well confirms? Is saying "Peace be upon him" enough, being Jesus such a great prophet as you say? If Muhammad is the last prophet, why would God give Jesus the FINAL WORD on Judgement Day? Maybe because they are ONE?
How can someone who is cursed (us Christians) be "nearest in love to the believers"? The Quran says in 9:30, "God's curse is on the Jews because they say that Ezra is the son of Allah,and on the Christians because they say the Messiah is the son of Allah." It's almost a contradiction.

No one has been able to produce a book like it, nor ten chapters like it, nor even one chapter like it. It was memorized by thousands of people during the lifetime of Muhammad, peace be upon him, and then this memorization was passed down from teacher to student for generation after generation, from mouth to ear and from one nation to another.
Are you sure? I don't know if you are aware of this, but the bible deals with over 1000 controversial topics and its 40 authors do not contradict each other at all. The Quran on the other hand, has contradictions (like the one I pointed out). The bible is also aesthetically unique in that it has poetry, historical narrative, songs, romance, didactic teatrise, personal correspondese, memoirs, satire, biography, autobiography, law, public records, geneologies, prophecy, parables and allegories.

Unfortunately I don't know arabic. But, I have discussed the Quran with muslims who read it in arabic. They haven't been able to explain to me why there is duality of feelings for Christians in your book. The language is not the problem in this case as the message translates well (we are respected and yet cursed). I have another question, if Islam is meant to be universal truth, why was it given in only one language? That puts many at a disadvantage, don't you think?

MrSycho7 You speak in good faith, but I ask you to please refrain from using phrases like "Muslims do this...Christians...." If you notice, a true Catholic will not put you down. For there was a man in the bible who also believed to follow God's will better than another. And Jesus said "everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted" (Luke 15). Catholic Christians are not perfect, we fall, and the test is to get up again by resorting to the word of God.
@S3YAZUL I'm afraid you misunderstood me; I'm just trying to be objective, I'm describing the facts as they are in reality, and when I say Muslims, I'm telling you about righteous muslims who follow the teachings of Allah as described in The Holy Quraan and the Hadiths of Muhammad (saw), and even in Islam it's a sin to speak of with excessive pride. Allah is the All-Knower. Any good is from Allah and the mistakes are from myself, may Allah forgive me, ameen.

Based on your faith, it is attrocious that we drink alcoho and eat certain foods. Based on my faith, material things are petty. They are not as vital to our salvation. Which of the two wisdoms do you think makes truly more sense? Do you think that what you eat defines your personality? How you think? NO! Much less your heart and soul. :)
How do u know that we do not fast or pray? Because YOU don't see us? Let me tell u why: Jesus said: “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. In sum: Jesus tells us not to be silly and get caught up in things that don't matter. Worry about your soul more than you worry about your body. If you read the context around this verse, you will understand why this is RECOMMENDED. It is NOT a COMMANDMENT and it is also NOT JESUS teaching. However, Catholic DO NOT DISREGARD these words. MODESTY is a virtue left to our god given free will. Many of us, including myself, could do a better job at dressing less provocatively. BUT I am sure that ultimately, God will not put my uncovered head, before my uncovered HEART. Do you understand?

Yes, we agree on this point. I was just trying to show you that you shouldn't say we don't pray or fast. We do. You may see it sometimes. Others you may not. My mother prays all the time. I see her. I do too, but she doesn't see me. So, even she doesn't know I pray so much. You still haven't answered these questions. I have asked other muslims because I am truly interested, and so far no response. :( The statements that you have given me above show me that you don't understand that the old testament is not Jesus. Misinformation can be harmful. Be careful not raise erroneous claims. The old testament is the guidance of the prophets before God's coming not Jesus' teachings. From Jesus on, we abide by the new doctrine, otherwise there would be no point in his coming.
Muhammad and Jesus, as well as the other prophets, were sent to confirm the belief in one God. This is referred to in the Quran where Jesus is reported as saying that he came:

The Bible agrees with the Nobel Quran in that Jesus came to attest (confirm) the law. But the Bible goes one step further in that Jesus says that he also came to FULFILL the law. From the title, I can see this book is a personal testimony. As such it is subjective. When dialogue between faiths takes place, it wiser to base our arguments on fact. Let me recommend a more objective book: "The early Christian-Muslim dialogue : a collection of documents from the first three Islamic centuries" you will find in it that the Quran DID change in the beginning. The book is unbiased, as it also points out where Christians were at fault in such dialogues with 1st two Caliphs. :)
@S3YAZUL Muslims have something that offers the most clear proof of all, The Holy Quran. There is no other book like it anywhere on earth. It is absolutely perfect in the Arabic language. It has no mistakes in grammar, meanings or context. The scientific evidences are well known around the entire world, even amongst non-Muslim scholars. Predictions in the Quran have come true; and its teachings are clearly for all people, all places and all times.
The Catholic bible is complete. If you are speaking about the bibles of other Christian denominations then, yes, they changed the bible. Which is why I INSIST so much in you not comparing them to the Catholic religion. The Catholic doctrine is the ONLY doctrine that can be DIRECTLY traced back to Jesus as he assigned the first Pope Peter. Other Christian denominations are missing 7 books and have human founders. Understand: ALL CATHOLICS are Christian BUT not all Christians are Catholic.
The Noble Quran was given to 1 man. This man had no witnesses with him to testify as your book requires. The bible on the other hand can be confirmed. THE SAME MESSAGE was inspired to men of different walks of life, languages & continents: kings (David), peasants, fishermen (Peter), Physicians & Historians (Luke), tax collectors, philosophers (Solomon), soldiers, poets, herdsmen (Amos). There is not a single contradiction in the entire bible. How did all these men agree? Easy: God's inpiration.
By the time Muhammad was converted into monotheism, the Catholic religion had already expanded to other continens. You say that the bible hasn't been the same in the past 1500 years. Wow! I wonder how they changed every single book and follower in every language in every continent. Now, that is science fiction right there! Even if this wild idea were true, at least ONE copy should have survived of the original Christian bible. How come archeologists haven't found it? That would prove your idea!
Maybe you haven't heard of the "Codex Sinaticus" oldest manuscript of the Christian Scriptures. Dates back to not only 1500 years ago but 1600 years ago :) You will find that the word of God according to our bible has NOT been corrupted. I will watch them as soon as I can, & will do my best to answer the questions. I am no expert, though. What I know, I have learned from my dad who used to be an atheist. Tired of so many religions trying to convince him, he studied a lot and found Catholicism to bear universal truth. Like him, I am open to learning about other religions & often hold dialogs with muslim friends. So far, everything good in Islam is already in Catholicism plus more. I recommend you read John 10. Muslims respect all prophets in general, but Jesus in particular, because he was one of the prophets who foretold the coming of Muhammad. Muslims, too, await the second coming of Jesus. They consider him one of the greatest of Allah's prophets to mankind. A Muslim does not refer to him simply as "Jesus," but normally adds the phrase "peace be upon him" as a sign of respect.
One of our weakneses as humans is that we tend to point fingers and generalize. "All Christians..." "All muslims..." "All Mexicans..." I am sure you don't feel hatred and that is what brings you peace. :) The next step is to LOVE everyone, even those who hate you.

@khalo555 Hmm...I felt like I answered your question, Father, Son, Holy Spirit are names assigned to God's different manifestations. I understand that Islam has 99 beutiful names for Allah. I would never say that you have 99 gods. The Trinity is certainly misunderstood by many. Yes, God is the beginning and the end. This is how we know that Jesus is that SAME God, since he described himself as the Alpha and the Omega.
@S3YAZUL so when Jesus is killed and in the Tomb for 3 days who is running the Universe? And when Jesus is called good in the new testament why does he say he is Not good but God is good. He means he is Not God here. And why does he say he only does what God tells him to do not he himself wants to do, he says he can himself do nothing. He is saying he is Not God in so many ways and forms. And why does he say he does not know the Hour is, not even the angels in heaven but the holy Father.
If God had presented himself to us solely as divine, there would have been no merit in his sacrifice or teachings, for anyone could say "Well that is easy 4U since you're God & can do anything, but humans are weak!" By assuming a true human nature, he proved via his own suffering, that it is possible to reject evil & earn salvation. What died was his human body. His divinity remained intact during those 3 days. Some of these sects, did indeed preach of 3 gods. Buth these were NOT TRULY Christian. Maybe the Quran refers to THESE people when it talks of those who departed from the book. What u have to know is that despite the errors of many of its MEMBERS, the Catholic doctrine can b historically traced back 2 Jesus' original teachings.

We call him son in reference to his human nature as he had no biological father. The divine in him is God. This is the reason why in so many instances Jesus insists: "The Father and I are one."

Correct, the word "Trinity" is not in the bible. It is dogma. If the Holy Spirit is ETERNAL (Book of Gen) "In the BEGINNING, the SPIRIT of God hovered over the waters..." And the Father is ETERNAL (Isaiah 41:1) "I, the LORD, the first and the last; I am he." And Jesus is ETERNAL (Book of Rev 1:8) "I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end." THEN it must be that they are ONE and the SAME for WE DO NOT belive in 3 eternals.
Why do I say that the trinity is not a concept but a dogma? Because it is a mystery to us that our ONE God seems to have presented himself to us in 3 forms. @arakora Oh, I see. Thank you for the clarification. I could explain the concept of the Trinity, but for now let it suffice that to us Christians the Trinity is NOT understood as 3 equal gods. NO. This is why if you walk into our temples, you will not see three altars: one for the Father, one for the Son, and one for the Holy Spirit. For us, the Trinity is a Unity (one): a mystery of God's essence; a manifestation of how he can be anything w/o us having to understand. To Christians, God is ONE.

The reason why I suggested you read the Quraan in arabic is that the translation will make the meaning weaker and sometimes it changes it no matter how much the translator was faithful and efficient. However, this fact don't put you in diasadvantage since there are millions of muslims who can't speak arabic

So here is the funny part: who then are the good Christians for the Quran? Can you name one? Is the Quran trying to say that there are Christians who don't think of Jesus as Lord? Then those wouldn't be Christians! So then the Quran is mistaken about what makes Christians, true Christians.

If Islam helps u be good to yourself and others, praised be Allah. The God I believe in is universal. Catholics believe there are servants of God in other faiths. John 10 "I know my sheep and my sheep know me...I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. They too will listen to my voice...and there shall be one flock and one shepherd." God is the good sheperd; his servants are the sheep, not all from the same pen now, but 1 day :) This is why I say our actions will bring us together. :)

What is wrong with Islam? I don't know enough to say what is wrong, but from what you have said. Islam reminds me of a lady named Martha in the bible. Islam worries too much about "outside" stuff: washing feet, not eating pork, praying on a mat (preparing the body if you will). Jesus said to Martha "“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed..." (AN OPEN HEART to the word of God) You should read the story Luke 10: 41

I can also say one thing that saddens me about my true muslim friends. A lot of them have a hobby of posting degrading videos of Christians (not Catholic). It is as if the enjoy ridiculizing them. Do you think that these actions will bring them closer to heaven? If you look at pages of practicing Catholics, we do not deliberately instigate or ridiculize anybody. Not muslims, not Jews, not other Christians. Some Catholics "by name" do, but out of ignorance & must ask for forgivess.

How can someone who is cursed (us Christians) be "nearest in love to the believers"? The Quran says in 9:30, "God's curse is on the Jews because they say that Ezra is the son of Allah,and on the Christians because they say the Messiah is the son of Allah." It's almost a contradiction.

No one has been able to produce a book like it, nor ten chapters like it, nor even one chapter like it. It was memorized by thousands of people during the lifetime of Muhammad, peace be upon him, and then this memorization was passed down from teacher to student for generation after generation, from mouth to ear and from one nation to another.

Are you sure? I don't know if you are aware of this, but the bible deals with over 1000 controversial topics and its 40 authors do not contradict each other at all. The Quran on the other hand, has contradictions (like the one I pointed out). The bible is also aesthetically unique in that it has poetry, historical narrative, songs, romance, didactic teatrise, personal correspondese, memoirs, satire, biography, autobiography, law, public records, geneologies, prophecy, parables and allegories.

Unfortunately I don't know arabic. But, I have discussed the Quran with muslims who read it in arabic. They haven't been able to explain to me why there is duality of feelings for Christians in your book. The language is not the problem in this case as the message translates well (we are respected and yet cursed). I have another question, if Islam is meant to be universal truth, why was it given in only one language? That puts many at a disadvantage, don't you think?

MrSycho7 You speak in good faith, but I ask you to please refrain from using phrases like "Muslims do this...Christians...." If you notice, a true Catholic will not put you down. For there was a man in the bible who also believed to follow God's will better than another. And Jesus said "everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted" (Luke 15). Catholic Christians are not perfect, we fall, and the test is to get up again by resorting to the word of God.

If you read the context around this verse, you will understand why this is RECOMMENDED. It is NOT a COMMANDMENT and it is also NOT JESUS teaching. However, Catholic DO NOT DISREGARD these words. Yes, we agree on this point. I was just trying to show you that you shouldn't say we don't pray or fast. We do. You may see it sometimes. Others you may not. My mother prays all the time. I see her. I do too, but she doesn't see me. So, even she doesn't know I pray so much. The Bible agrees with the Nobel Quran in that Jesus came to attest (confirm) the law. But the Bible goes one step further in that Jesus says that he also came to FULFILL the law. Upon doing this, he gave a new set of instructions. Pleae refer to Matthew 5 to see what Jesus instructs on many topics of your concern: food, fasting, divorce, enemies, etc. :)

From the title, I can see this book is a personal testimony. As such it is subjective. When dialogue between faiths takes place, it wiser to base our arguments on fact. Let me recommend a more objective book: "The early Christian-Muslim dialogue : a collection of documents from the first three Islamic centuries" you will find in it that the Quran DID change in the beginning. The book is unbiased, as it also points out where Christians were at fault in such dialogues with 1st two Caliphs. :)

It has no mistakes in grammar, meanings or context. The scientific evidences are well known around the entire world, even amongst non-Muslim scholars. Predictions in the Quran have come true; and its teachings are clearly for all people, all places and all times.

The Catholic bible is complete. If you are speaking about the bibles of other Christian denominations then, yes, they changed the bible. Which is why I INSIST so much in you not comparing them to the Catholic religion. The Noble Quran was given to 1 man. This man had no witnesses with him to testify as your book requires. The bible on the other hand can be confirmed. THE SAME MESSAGE was inspired to men of different walks of life, languages & continents: kings (David), peasants, fishermen (Peter), Physicians & Historians (Luke), tax collectors, philosophers (Solomon), soldiers, poets, herdsmen (Amos). There is not a single contradiction in the entire bible. How did all these men agree? Easy: God's inpiration.

I wonder how they changed every single book and follower in every language in every continent. Now, that is science fiction right there! Maybe you haven't heard of the "Codex Sinaticus" oldest manuscript of the Christian Scriptures. Dates back to not only 1500 years ago but 1600 years ago :) You will find that the word of God according to our bible has NOT been corrupted. The idea is that with the original sin, man lost the grace of eternal life. With his sacrifice, Jesus redeemed what the first man had done, and won us the possibility of salvation. Salvation is not automatic, though. Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. I will watch them as soon as I can, & will do my best to answer the questions. I am no expert, though. What I know, I have learned from my dad who used to be an atheist. Tired of so many religions trying to convince him, he studied a lot and found Catholicism to bear universal truth. Like him, I am open to learning about other religions & often hold dialogs with muslim friends. So far, everything good in Islam is already in Catholicism plus more. I recommend you read John 10. You will like it.

Muslims respect all prophets in general, but Jesus in particular, because he was one of the prophets who foretold the coming of Muhammad. Muslims, too, await the second coming of Jesus. They consider him one of the greatest of Allah's prophets to mankind. A Muslim does not refer to him simply as "Jesus," but normally adds the phrase "peace be upon him" as a sign of respect.

I would never say that you have 99 gods. The Trinity is certainly misunderstood by many. Yes, God is the beginning and the end. This is how we know that Jesus is that SAME God, since he described himself as the Alpha and the Omega.

If God had presented himself to us solely as divine, there would have been no merit in his sacrifice or teachings, for anyone could say "Well that is easy 4U since you're God & can do anything, but humans are weak!" By assuming a true human nature, he proved via his own suffering, that it is possible to reject evil & earn salvation. What died was his human body. His divinity remained intact during those 3 days. He came back to prove He is God & command us to take his doctrine to all nations.

@khalo555 By the time Muhammad (PBUH) had his first revelation, Christianity had been around for about 600 yrs. Many HERETIC sects began to form pretending 2b Christian. Some of these sects, did indeed preach of 3 gods. Buth these were NOT TRULY Christian. Maybe the Quran refers to THESE people when it talks of those who departed from the book. What u have to know is that despite the errors of many of its MEMBERS, the Catholic doctrine can b historically traced back 2 Jesus' original teachings.

We call him son in reference to his human nature as he had no biological father. The divine in him is God. This is the reason why in so many instances Jesus insists: "The Father and I are one."

Correct, the word "Trinity" is not in the bible. It is dogma. If the Holy Spirit is ETERNAL (Book of Gen) "In the BEGINNING, the SPIRIT of God hovered over the waters..." And the Father is ETERNAL (Isaiah 41:1) "I, the LORD, the first and the last; I am he." And Jesus is ETERNAL (Book of Rev 1:8) "I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end." THEN it must be that they are ONE and the SAME for WE DO NOT belive in 3 eternals.

Why do I say that the trinity is not a concept but a dogma? Because it is a mystery to us that our ONE God seems to have presented himself to us in 3 forms. One time, the three forms appeared as a unity at once in the eyes of many. Baptism of Jesus (human nature) Mat 3:16 "At that moment heaven was opened, and HE saw the SPIRIT OF GOD descending like a dove and lighting on him. Hello Hussam, I have a question for you: In trying to defend Allah and his name, why do you use insulting language such as "nut cases" "nut bags" "idiocy" in referring to Evangelical Christians? I am Catholic (which makes me a Christian) and I must say that while I don't believe that he who you call Allah is the devil, also do NOT agree when you say that Christians in general are idol worshippers. We only worship God. Saints & Mary are only representations of valiant or admirable Christians. :)

@arakora Oh, I see. Thank you for the clarification. I could explain the concept of the Trinity, but for now let it suffice that to us Christians the Trinity is NOT understood as 3 equal gods. NO. This is why if you walk into our temples, you will not see three altars: one for the Father, one for the Son, and one for the Holy Spirit. For us, the Trinity is a Unity (one): a mystery of God's essence; a manifestation of how he can be anything w/o us having to understand. To Christians, God is ONE.

@khalo555 Salam! Jesus is the name given to God "Incarnate". Holy Spirit is (the same) God "manifest", but invisible to our human eyes. Father is (the same) God in "full expression". I am, of course, simplifying this very much. I hope this helps. And thank you for not using bad words :)
