...για όλη την ανθρωπότητα που ξεχάστηκε στην άβυσσο της μαζικής συμπεριφοράς. η μουσική που γεννήθηκε από αρχαίες μούσες και ξαποστένει στις ψυχές των λίγων, πια...
...for all of humanity that was forgotten in the abyss of mass behavior. music born of ancient muses to lay off into the souls of a few...
My favorite Dead Can Dance song. I've decided once my kids are older and can't destroy the nice receiver and speakers I'm going to buy, this will be the first track I'll play: 4:41
If I don't see DCD before I die, I will have missed one of the legends in my mind. I'm awestruck...speechless, astounded by their wonderful work. Beautiful, profound, imaginative, and transcendental.
My favourite song from my favourite album..it's weird, dcd sounds very melancholic, which is not what I'm usually into, but it's so beautiful at the same time! Such a weird feeling I love!
The best songs pick you up and put you down in a different place, a place where hope seems not only possible but possible in a different way than you are used to.
Some day we will all be remembered. Sonia R.I.P. ( mother goth Miami 87) I will see u on the other side for the great gathering. Oh and by the way this live sounded exactly the same, unbelievable.
Though I had been a 4AD fan for sometime via "The Cocteau Twins", this albums' release in 1987 was my first exposure to DCD! I of course would later explore their earlier work and was mad for "Spleen And Ideal"! And though they went on to do many wonderful projects, this album always remained close to my heart! As a student of the "Classics" in literature and art it appealed to the Romantic, the Orientalist, as well as the "Humanist" in me!
@Gedooptics I DO!!! the begin of this powerful song drives me back in times when earth was still young and the worth of a man was not due to his money but to his bravery (hope you understand my poor english, I'm Italian;)
@TARSTARBAS good words! it's always encouraging to see someone bring forth clarity in this time of kali-yuga. though our era is dark, greatness nonetheless surrounds us in the form of nature, art such as this, and the indestructible gestalt of existence itself
No matter Italian, German or... we are human and we are sensitve to truth and beauty

The intro is intense. The whole song is amazing, but the beginning is mystical and blood boiling.

This is not a song! This is a monument, a landmark of civilization. No words can describe the feeling of listening to this poetry. A true epic.

Sad to say, I am just discovering DCD. Already, however, it touched my soul. I have never heard such essence in music.

beautiful to hear at night in a dimly lit room....and I've been to Pere Lachaise too and seen the tomb too....!
ariellevonglitz 1 year ago
I loved this track and the entire album as a young man in the late 1980s so much,
that I made a sort of pilgrimage to Pere Lachaise cemetery with a few friends
in order to get them to snap a photo of me near the Raspail sepulcher. My friends
dutifully obliged, but were rather annoyed when I showed little interest in seeing Jim Morrisons' tomb!
