  • I understand such topic requires brainstorming which probably causes nap onto some of us. However, we must not forget, it is from challenge and obstacle that we learn how to improve and transform, we all love that. But how can we reach that state when we napping? That's what we call mindfulness. When you think, you are not at rest. Thinking is used for improvisatio. Or somthing useful. Thanks to HH TTR for the Teaching.

  • Buddhist teaching through Socratic maiutic --wonderful!

thank you, Tulku Rimpoche, for the lesson. namaste.

  • I just have finished my pizza. My stomac feels very good. Time for a cat-nap. These two are talking about what? Who cares? YAAWWNNN!!! My legs are tired, my arms are heavy. I am so happy I have this coach to lie down and sleep. Hhhrrrr, Hhhrrr...

  • @dtseringdorje Was it a good nap ?

  • is this real ? real buddha have to shave head but his guy is a joke

  • @xblueskyxx1 Yes absolutely real, Rinpoche is an incumbent of Gaden monastery in South India you can check with the monastery if you have further doubts.

  • i wouldnt like to be taught by this monk

  • @beneethetechnokid Well some teachers appeal to certain people, and some don't. You need to find those that really suit you. Rinpoche like to tease students in teachings, it is one way to make our minds softer and more malleable. If our minds are too hard, it is very hard to learn new things. When a student is going the wrong way, and the student is deeply in trouble and the other methods ( gentler, softer methods ) do not work anymore and time is running out, Rinpoche can be very fierce.

  • Since is our responsibility , and we must do it happilly, push away what our responsibility and put on others, is not type of action that term as let go.

  • @gohteh I don't understand could explain that more clearly thanks.

  • This so-called "monk" takes 5 min's to teach a 30 sec lesson.

  • @loveruleshate but people admire him - who is a Rinpoche and not you...

  • @ClassicalMartin Hierarchy is your argument? Interesting.

  • think you can outwit Rinpoche?

start up another debate at his PERSONAL BLOG, which Rinpoche writes for almost EVERY DAY blog (dot ) tsemtulku (dot )com

  • Awesome... I love this video showing an ancient method or questioning and debating to understand a clearer picture. It is so helpful especially for today's modern thinkers where ppl are so use to asking WHY? Buddhism is perhaps the only religion that allows one to question till one understands the point and is convinced by it instead of blind believing in anything.

  • What did he say in 9.20? Someone coughed and I didn't get what he said..

  • I think such debates are amazing in its ability to penetrate the web of our ignorance and so we see for ourselves how we create happiness and unhappiness for others and ourselves.

  • Therefore in knowing Lord Buddha's teachings should compel us to transform and encourage us to take charge of our destiny and to find happiness in being a benefit towards others.

  • Cool! I like such neat debates by Rinpoche! It gives me a glimpse of the great debate tradition of Gaden Monastery! i love it!

  • That means that as Buddhists, each time we break our vows and create negative karma even heavier karma because we already know. We know our downfalls and yet do nothing to change it

  • Nothing is really in inherently negative except those actions that breaks our vows I think. I like the last chapter of Gurus For Hire which discusses Refuge vows and sheds some light of the great benefits of taking refuge.

  • Isn't that Kandarohi? Although he is 'Le Fruit' but he is highly intelligent. HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche does attract a lot of highly intelligent students because of his contemporary presentation of Buddha's teachings.

  • No wonder I am still stuck! Great teaching to get me out of my stupor and into the fire of joyous effort. Guru Yoga means much more now....

  • exactly right

  • the ending made me think of sumbody who is trying to forget an old learned skill, such as swimming or riding a bike.

lol, imagine being in a pool and trying to forget to swim, or purposely trying to not ride a bike.

  • For a karmic action to realize it's full potential consequence, it has to fulfill 4 definite precursors:

that of motivation, means, execution and result. Habitual acts lack recognition of all four steps and does not allow for the person to correct at any point. Irresponsible acts continue even after recognition. The former involves ignorance and the latter denial of Karma. Denial is more serious.

  • The old adage of "ignorance is no excuse for breaking a law" applies in dharma too. How profound.

  • At last I know who is Kandarohi :)) His reaction to the hair stile remark is a little strange, but I like him :) This debate also made me to think too.

  • Very interesting debate example.

  • Debate forces us to be sincere. If we are not, the Lama will reveal that through the power of logic. If we are sincere, the Lama will show and prove to us our limitations. When there is no room for denial or rejection of our reality, it opens the way for transformation to happen.Debate conducted skilfully can be a good lie detector substitute ha ha.

  • Habitual irresponsibility and unknowing irresponsibility still create negative karma because both actions give harm to a being that can receive and feel harm. Mmmm. Similar to blind ignorance and trying to be ignorant of the fact.

Debates lead to understanding, faith, practice, transformation- vital ingredients to be a better person. How true!

  • not taking responsibility causes a lot of harm to others on the basis that others will need to do more work because you did not do what you were supposed to do properly. Even if there is no one at the end, it is still damaging because the more you do it, the more you will do it to others. tsemtulku(dot)com

  • to know something and not do anything about it is irresponsible, likewise to not know something and not do anything is ignorance.

  • the same yes and much more as you say i don't well there you go thought.the other night i was at a oto meeting its intresting to study magick

    i and yes i prefer to spell with a small i to remind me of the ego...story much love {{{

  • thats funny, because the study of magic is based on the "I" and the power it brings. In short, magic revolves around "I" in a way. Each and every spell casted involves tapping that energy in some way or another and increasing it over time. It's contradictory to Buddhism.

  • that depends on the kind of magick you study

crowley spent many years in a temple as a monk

bennent was one of the first people to bring buddism to england both where there together.

both studied why crowley came back to teach

his method well thats why i am studying. as contradictory. i don't think so in alot of his books he speaks of the way of the TAO

  • you cant believe most of the things he says about magick as true and also his biography. Better test out all his theories and do research on who he really is before accepting. Not just him, but everyone else as well.

  • If you really like this video and would really like more to come, please tell all your friends about it and ask them to watch and post comments to encourage the hardworking staff to put up more!

  • H.E.Tsem Rinpoche took rebirth in Taipei, Taiwan where he was recognized as a Tulku at 7 months old, but his mom refused to let him go. Then taken to N.J.,USA. From Jersey, he left to California where he met his root guru H.H.Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, where Kyabje Zong Rinpoche re-recognized him again. In 1987 he left for Gaden in South,India where He was officially enthroned. In 1992,chosen by Lati Rinpoche to go to Malaysia where he went on and off to teach. He resides in Malaysia full time now.

  • thank you rinpoche,, tashi delek

  • His Eminence Tsem Tulku does not speak any french. But it would be nice if his holy and practical teachings can be translated into french to benefit many. If you are interested..you can contact his KECHARA AND MEDIA PUBLICATIONS DEPT which are responsible for media and publications of Rinpoche's teachings. See Rinpoche's website to get information. tsemtulku(dot)com

  • Hello,

Can someone tell me if Tsem Tulku speaks french?

I'll like to invite him over to our center...

    Thanks

  • amazing insight thank you Rinpoche

  • I have often wondered what experiences the fruit of karma if there is no "permanent self" that is truly existent?

  • plants feel but not the same way connected

we are to all things one and the same out side in side you pick one blade of grass and burn it it does not burn the field for you are no greater than a blade of grass tibetan Buddhist well tibetan nun once said to me we are greater than a animal i refuse to believe that

  • the thing is we are the same as that animal, but what we can do is much more than an animal, which is why we should take full use of it.

  • i've met the guy talking in the beginning in Malaysia somewhere...do anyone else know who he is please?

  • his center is called Kechara House. you can check in the Kechara House website: kecharahouse(dot)com.

  • the guy is a bit...hmmm

  • I've enjoyed this one :-)

  • I love this guy, great teacher.

  • Thank-you Rinpoche

  • But one should not only be gentle to other beings because of fear of karma. True love, caring and gentleness towards other beings comes from within. It comes from your ability to love. I don't believe that true love can be taught.

  • made it clear for me how a negative act is not only negative because of harm you bring to a sentient being, but also by reinforcing that tendency in your mind.

  • Nice side explanation of ignorance and it's transformation into wisdom.

  • Very heart hurt.If you make a mistake how long does it take to get back, to be accepted again?

  • you dont correct your mistake because you want to be accepted again, you correct your mistake because you realize how much harm it has done to others. On that basis you generate remorse and regret, as well as awareness to never do it again. neonlama[dot]com

  • i know i'm naughty
