masks after having some dental work done. He had his wisdom

teeth pulled, and he was told to wear it when he went outside

to help prevent infection. Michael said he liked the feeling of

privacy it gave him so he kept the masks.

I was born in the 90s, too, and I never got to find out who MJ was before 2009. I remember seeing him on TV a couple of times in 2005, I think, but that was it. I just had absolutely NO CLUE who he was.

I got to know him sometime after he had made his comeback announcement, and I was devastated when I heard that he'd passed away. My one dream I had was that I'd meet him some day, but... it's too late now. :(

He wore the masks because he had many plastic surgeries on his nose, and it got to a point where he would have to put a prothetic nose tip on everyday. This was a very tedious process and there were just some days where he just didn't feel like putting the nose tip on, and he refused to be seen by anybody without it, so he wore a surgical mask to cover up his nose without the tip on it. That's what I read in a biography today.
