I looked back to this comment and I'm not exactly sure why I said that. I was wrong about the sound clip. If my comment offended you I apologize. Keep up the hard training amigo!
Nice workout guys. Stairs workouts are great, you can get more done in less time. Now if you can run up those stairs 25-30 times, that would be impressive. I can probably only do it 6-10 times, viewing it from here. Keep up the good work!
I saw this video months ago and had been trying to find it again to show to some friends. Unbelievable work!!
Read some of the comments and noticed one viewer trying to be an expert by criticizing!! To me itt is most obvious this video is for those who push the limits every now and again! Shame that viewer'a sight is limited!!!!
Interesting commons below this is a very similar thing I have heard said about some of the conditioning methods used in Parkour. Personanally if someone is looking at this and basing all their work out on it then I would question their knowledge base. I think if you read the info you will see this is just because the guys training wanted to beat the boredom factor + do some fun training. Not all of use are made the same + different things motivate us hence why I left the gym + now to Parkour
This is lame; and it's not a good way to do plyometrics-I am not even sure that amount of repetitions on the stairs would be of any benefit. Every plyometric program I have been involved in stresses maximum jumping ability on each jump until a noticeable decrease occurs, usually 6-12 jumps, not 130 which is probably bad for your ankles and will cause shinsplints quickly.
Your right on all your above points except it being lame (lame is a statement of personal opinion). The loading parameters you stated are correct and so is the potential for joint injury you mentioned. Very often we just do crap... BECAUSE IT'S FUN.
whats the best workout to get in shape and lose weight fast i am looking to get in somewhat good shape before my lacrosse season starts early march so i have about 3 1/2 months please help
Cool. So you want to go to a full body three days a week and check out the video response I put up above. You can download a workout I made for free if you follow the link in the sidebar of that video. That will get you going with a good solid base.
It does both but if you want more weight loss than muscle size then reduce the rest times to under a minute and superset the exercise or make a circuit out of them. You can also look in the MMA section of my website to find the Randy Couture workout. That is an excellent workout for what you want to achieve.
yeh ive done the grappling circuit a couple times before and it was a killer workout i liked it but should i do that only or with other exercises and how often should i do it 3 days a week like the other one?
this looked awesome. i got so energetic just watching it, but the video isnt working anymore. i think youtube is beginning to suck. i have a poor jump. which muscles do these target and how often do u recommend this drill or in general plyometrics. how often do these monks do it i wonder. thankyou.
I've noticed that youtube doesnt work so good in differant browsers like internet explorer sometimes. I'm using safari now and firefox seems to work off and on. It's weird. This workout targets everything seriously. Mostly from the hips down and shoulders. Vague I know but it does. I do plyometrics 3 times a week with two weight workouts as well, but that's just me. Everyone needs different workloads.
I got the idea from watching Shaolin monks do it. Actually, you should be able to find it here on youtube if you google 'Shaolin monks stairs' the national geographic clip has it.
