Oddly enough, this rant makes no sense. I looked up this game (extremely bored at work) and by the time Miller was due to hit in the 7th, a rightie was pitching. Hence the suggestion that Brett (a leftie hitter) pinch it for Miller (a rightie hitter) made perfect sense. Additionally, there couldn't have even been a defensive problem which would have prevented McRae from the switch because Miller was DH'ing that day and that is what Brett was doing most of the time by that point.
