This was a theme that reflected the times. It wasn't uncommon for late 80s TV themes to be a bit bouncy and cheesy. IMO, It was clever as this show had a pretty dramatic tone and it was a good mask

the building looks a lot like the building in Degrassi the next generation. Is it supposed to be the same school building? (i know that it actually isn't, and that they film it somewhere else now) but maybe it's supposed to be the same school building.

@daniela42995 THat seems to be the idea. Epitome Pictures modeled it on Centennial College, and dressed it up a little (window treatments, and banners that say 'linking together for learning'... the banners look weathered now, I guess that's what they had in mind)

I never got to watch the old Degrassi shows with Spike, Snake, an Joey cause Im from America and young but I liked TNG ... Im not so sure about TBP ones cause I dont really like the new cast.

@hollabackgrl17 Yep, it is Spike. This show got a lot of publicity when she got pregnant. She named her child, Emma. Emma was the inspiration for Degrassi: The Next Generation and they got Spike back for the show. Pretty interesting.

the old one was more of an after school special, and it was like the first teen drama ever, so there was no "typical teen drama stereotype" to it, Degrassi TNG started the same way but slowly turned into your "typical teen drama" because they needed to compete with shows like Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210, and others like that. well thats what I think but yeah I cant watch those other teen drama stuff. ONLY Degrassi haha.
