Pity the final movie had nothing to do with the story being told in the trailer.
"Magneto's got an army!" -> "Magneto got 20 guys out there!"
"You got a war!" -> "you got a small brawl on an island"
the list goes on and on, absolutely epic trailer, but weak movie, a pity that the trailer reflects the vision of the original director, but the studio decided it was too expensive so decided to switch director :(
Xmen is amazing, but they totally killed off too many people in this one..i loved the movie but they could never make a fourth. which is what pisses me off
I'm going to say this right now, there are just a few contradictions in this movie... First of all, in x men first class, the Prof lost his ability to walk because of Magnito deflecting bullets. Secondly, Magnito left Xavier in the 60's. There may be more, but I haven't found all of them...
It wasn't the worst movie ever. I mean sure I prefer X2 and X-Men First Class. But, it was good overall. But I hated the fact that Rogue got the cure. But when at the end Magneto moves the chess piece, I knew that the cure was temporarily effective. That sort of fixed the whole movie. But it did not make me cry, I cried in First Class when Charles got shot, and said "My legs, my legs" Well, sorry if this was a spoiler..... But why did Scott and Jean have to die. Seriously people.
This film has bad parts and good parts, the fighting was awesome , the final battle , only to much wolverine and if they want the juggrenaut in it dont make it a'n secondairy villain causse his character history is to big for that. and they shouldnt have killed off cyclops
Not the best X-men movie but it's movies like these that gain the money to allow the studios to greenlight more expensive franchises like Thor, The Avengers, and X-Men: First Class, and there's rumors of them making a Luke Cage movie. they should reboot the x men seris. bring back professor x, cyclops, jean grey, nightcrawler, gambit, jubilee, rogue, beast, storm, and of course wolverine. they definitely need to reboot juggernaut. make him bigger and badder. i like magneto, but can we have some different villains? maybe sentinels, omega red, etc.
@thegroove14 they do not need to reboot it, they need to continue the story. the ending of X3 can easily move on to the story "Days of future past" out of the comics and tv cartoon series. its pretty much the world goes to shit, humans become paranoid and build these things called sentinels (large robots) to hunt mutants, but these sentinels turn on humans and enslave the planet. so wolverine (well still alive cause he cant die, never ages too) is part of this resistance.
@thegroove14 he gets material for this guy forge (a super smart mutant) to build a time machine, along the way he meets this guy named Bishop. Bishop goes back in time to stop the assassination of senator Kelly and to stop the chain reaction the led to the death of the x men (major players in trying to create peace between humans and mutants). the back story from the movies are a bit different but they can easily change it a bit to follow true to the movies.
@Surrection75 I think because most X-men fans enjoy X-men because of its characters. This movie did not treat those characters well at all. There were no good character moments, and it even killed off or depowered some of the major ones.
And then to top it all off, it took one of the greatest X-men stories ever told (Phoenix/Dark Phoenix) and completely butchered it.
I never saw this movie, and glad I didn't...everyone is saying it was complete shit. I could tell it would be shit just from this trailer....although I'm ashamed that a shitty movie trailer can still give me chills from dramatic music and scenes. -.-

When I first saw this, I thought I was a pretty good movie. Then I saw it again, and thought it wasn't as good as I thought it was. This movie could have been a lot better if they added more into the characters. They should have shown Angel more and Ice man could have been in his ice form more instead of just at the end.
First Class was so awesome man. I would love to see Hollywood to reboot these X men movies with the writers and director who made X men First Class. And the reboot should be called X men: New generation.

@GagasLitteMonster she had dual personalities, one was very rebellious and Professor X had it controlled until the climax of X2, the Phoenix side rose from the ashes so to speak and survived the incident. There were many differences like Jean LOVED Cyclops and chose him over Logan, whereas Phoenix craved Logan and didn't want Cyclops.
I'd love to see an x-men film with the main X-men being: Jubilee, Gambit, Beast, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Jean, Cyclops, and Professor Xavier and maybe have a score with the orginal music from the 90's tv show.
I love X-men - The Last Stand! In spite of all of its negative reviews, this film is my favorite of the trilogy. The story was great, the same actors were on board, the style and feel of this film was on point, and the special effects were amazing (especially the San Francisco bridge scene). The only negatives I found in this film was Jean, Cyclops, and Professor X's death and the Phoenix not being played out to her fullest potential. In all, Ratner did a job well done directing this film. :-)

@Mordor6121512 The producers wanted a short actionflick. The directors of Iron man and Kick-ass/X-men First class were once onboard to direct but they left because of creative difference with the producers. Ratner came on board rather later, when the movie was well in pre-production and changes to the script would only delay the movie, and it was already behind schedule for at least a month. In post production Ratner was forced to delete a lot of dialogue scenes, at least more than 20 minutes.

Pity the final movie had nothing to do with the story being told in the trailer.
"Magneto's got an army!" -> "Magneto got 20 guys out there!"
"You got a war!" -> "you got a small brawl on an island"
the list goes on and on, absolutely epic trailer, but weak movie, a pity that the trailer reflects the vision of the original director, but the studio decided it was too expensive so decided to switch director :(

I'm going to say this right now, there are just a few contradictions in this movie... First of all, in x men first class, the Prof lost his ability to walk because of Magnito deflecting bullets. Secondly, Magnito left Xavier in the 60's. There may be more, but I haven't found all of them...

It wasn't the worst movie ever. I mean sure I prefer X2 and X-Men First Class. But, it was good overall. But I hated the fact that Rogue got the cure. But when at the end Magneto moves the chess piece, I knew that the cure was temporarily effective. That sort of fixed the whole movie. But it did not make me cry, I cried in First Class when Charles got shot, and said "My legs, my legs" Well, sorry if this was a spoiler..... But why did Scott and Jean have to die. Seriously people.

@thegroove14 they do not need to reboot it, they need to continue the story. the ending of X3 can easily move on to the story "Days of future past" out of the comics and tv cartoon series. its pretty much the world goes to shit, humans become paranoid and build these things called sentinels (large robots) to hunt mutants, but these sentinels turn on humans and enslave the planet. so wolverine (well still alive cause he cant die, never ages too) is part of this resistance.

@thegroove14 he gets material for this guy forge (a super smart mutant) to build a time machine, along the way he meets this guy named Bishop. Bishop goes back in time to stop the assassination of senator Kelly and to stop the chain reaction the led to the death of the x men (major players in trying to create peace between humans and mutants). the back story from the movies are a bit different but they can easily change it a bit to follow true to the movies.

@Surrection75 I think because most X-men fans enjoy X-men because of its characters. This movie did not treat those characters well at all. There were no good character moments, and it even killed off or depowered some of the major ones.
And then to top it all off, it took one of the greatest X-men stories ever told (Phoenix/Dark Phoenix) and completely butchered it.

When I first saw this, I thought I was a pretty good movie. Then I saw it again, and thought it wasn't as good as I thought it was. This movie could have been a lot better if they added more into the characters. They should have shown Angel more and Ice man could have been in his ice form more instead of just at the end.

@GagasLitteMonster she had dual personalities, one was very rebellious and Professor X had it controlled until the climax of X2, the Phoenix side rose from the ashes so to speak and survived the incident. There were many differences like Jean LOVED Cyclops and chose him over Logan, whereas Phoenix craved Logan and didn't want Cyclops.

I love X-men - The Last Stand! In spite of all of its negative reviews, this film is my favorite of the trilogy. The story was great, the same actors were on board, the style and feel of this film was on point, and the special effects were amazing (especially the San Francisco bridge scene). The only negatives I found in this film was Jean, Cyclops, and Professor X's death and the Phoenix not being played out to her fullest potential. In all, Ratner did a job well done directing this film. :-)

@Mordor6121512 The producers wanted a short actionflick. The directors of Iron man and Kick-ass/X-men First class were once onboard to direct but they left because of creative difference with the producers. Ratner came on board rather later, when the movie was well in pre-production and changes to the script would only delay the movie, and it was already behind schedule for at least a month. In post production Ratner was forced to delete a lot of dialogue scenes, at least more than 20 minutes.
