  • What will you do different next year? As far as - what you'd add, and do away with? Impressive first garden!!

  • @pearldowns Thanks for the question. Two veggies I won't be growing next year are cauiflour and brussel sprouts. The cauliflour looked gnarly and wasn't appetizing at all while the brussel sprouts are hardly half finished and it's mid October. Aside from that planting the veggies deeper would definitely help their growth. I planted them just to the top of the pots they came out of and I noticed roots showing and plants falling over. More squash next year as well.

  • @Elite1987 Since you said you're in a colder climate, did you get an early start with some onions and spinach and other cooler weather early crops? You can also plant a few flowers like marigolds, who are a natural deterrent for some garden pests. Compost, bro, compost. Use the parts that you will rip out to condition the soil. You're walking (YT) billboard for healthy sustainable living. High 5!

  • @pearldowns I started lettuce and the green onion were already up from last year. I'd like to get a greenhouse soon. We have compost bins so most of our soil comes from there, completely organic. Thanks for the comment/ tips!

  • @Elite1987 I'll stay posted - to see when you introduce your gardening for fitness show on PBS. 8-))
