Sorry, but I think you're from Romania not from Japan. Unfortunately It is not a nationalist video so please everybody find another page to quarrel about your nationalist feelings. Anyway Romania should be appreciate that Transylvania was once the part of the A-H Empire, because it has several majestic buildings and treasures from that era. 1st:i didn't say i was fromJapan,if u had asked my nationality i would have proudly said it loud, but i don't think it has to do with this comment/2nd:i said your video is fine/3rd:Transylvanian hungarians&germans have ever appreciated the new EnglishFrench style real democracy regime established by theRomanianMonarchy/4th:our best buildings are actually inBucharest, and areParis-styled,much finer thanVienna&Budapest, you can bet.TheLittleParis isBucharest, not other(N.B:Paris=City ofLights).thanks!
OK it's true that Bucharest's architectural style was based on Paris as many of the Romanian architects studied there. I really like the CEC building and the Palace of Justice in Bucharest, but unfortunately most of the buildings from that era were bombed by Germans or demolished by Ceaucescu.
Otherwise I think the buildings of Cluj Napoca (Kolozsvár) and other towns are nice as well and worth visiting by tourists arriving in Romania. Doubtlessly the buildings of Vienna and Budapest were based on a Paris Hausmann style as well, often designed by French architects and engineers inc.Western Railway Station or Margaret Bridge, Budapest. In the XIXth century Budapest was called The Paris of the East and Bucharest was called The Little Paris. But none of them are as majestic as the Paris.
@EuropeTraveller:you're right indeed about the architecture,1correction though:theGermans were driven out quickly before they bombed much, only the formerTheatre building and some depots were lost.About a third of the currentBucharest, swollen indeed by the commies with blocks, remains a fair copy ofParis.Ceausescu didn't demolish the important state buildings,he destroyed a lot of mediaevalRomanian churches, unfortunately(commie atheism),and very many normal houses.Thank you for your attention.
and where is Bratislava? it was Hungarian capital for so long .. where in hungary were turks.. and in bratislava were many of hungarians kings coronated
I have mentioned several times in the comments that just Budapest and Vienna were the official capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Empire that existed from 1867-1918. Neither Prague, Salzburg, Cracow, Triest, Bolzano, Cluj Napoca, Kosice, Bratislava, Debrecen, Zagreb nor other huge towns were capitals. They were big towns and I hope I will be able to do a slideshow soon about them too.
@volhov1 okay, this is the german name of Pozsony....but cechs have nothing to do there until 1920....so bratyifalva name is wrong....really wrong...Pozsony will be hungarian for ever, that could not change any 90 year old signed paper....
@volhov1 az is bratyifalva.... =) most mit mondjak.....idősebbek vagyunk mint szlotákia és ők duhajkodnak....vicc az egész....nagy morvák....hát persze....szerintem ők maguk sem hiszik el....ők csehek,akik letelepedtek a felvidékre.....ennyi
tudod, olyan, hogy szlovák nem létezik. A szlovák szót a felvidéken élő mindenféle szláv népekre értették mintegy gyűjtőnévként. Lengyelek, Csehek, Ruszinok, ezek keveredéséből és egy kalap alá vételéből alakult ki a szlovák "nemzet" XD
@robo1945 it would be better if you learn a little bi of the history! And what are u if we ruled your nation for more than 1000 years?!Im older than szlotákia!LOL,and you are slaves not me!
@AquilaCarpatica Learn History. Read old encíclopedias like English Britannica 1911. Gypsy roman. Orthodox = semi-asian barbar nation. You and serbs were mostly nomads until the 17th century. Learn history.

The Austrian Empire was that but the new Empire, Austro-Hungary from 1867 until 1918 was a kind of EU of its time. And this EU were annihilated by the western nations.
Austria-Hungary wasn't democratic at all. It had eleven distinctly different ethnic groupings, of which only two, the Germans and Hungarians (who together accounted for about 44% of the total population) wielded any power or control. he other eight groupings (Czechs, Poles, Ruthenians, Romanians, Slovaks, Serbs, Slovenes and Italians) hardly wielded any power at all, only some Croats and Serbs had limited autonomy in the Kingdom of Croatia and Slavonia
AUHU wasn't democracy naturally. But he was incomparably more democratic, than any of the other countries in the area. Schools with a Romanian language in AUHU. Approximately 3000 beginner's schools (6 classes), 2000 repeating schools (3 classes), 6 high schools, 7 teacher-training colleges, 5 industrial schools, 7 theologies. Approximately 2,5-3 million Romanians lived in minority without Hungary, (Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Macedoromanians in the Balcan) they did not have one single school.
Romania denied his minorities simply. Like this minority school, newspaper, mass on the minority's language, party, representative etc. not may have existed. It was taught to the Moldavian Csángó Hungarians, that to the Tisza river is Romania, Austria comes after it. Hungary does not exist. The Romanian state supervised all curricula, minority denominational schools may not exist. There was total Romanian national dictatorship. However Romania slaughtered his own citizens too in 1907...
Franz Ferdinand himself had planned to radically redraw the map of Austria-Hungary, creating a number of ethnically and linguistically dominated semi-autonomous "states" which would all be part of a larger confederation renamed the United States of Greater Austria. The idea was set to encounter heavy opposition from the Hungarian part of the Dual Monarchy,
@nauneim1 Yes, of course I know this. However the Monarchy's minority politics was one of the most tolerant minority politics in the world in this time, how I wrote it already.
@jozefporta lolza. you say that most oppresive govenment in europe was tolerant. serfodom within austria was only abolished in 1848. you know had serfdom back then? backwards russia. all the other european countries renounced serfdom starting with the 16th century and all trough the 17th centuries. also until 1905 the non-hungarian nations were not allowed to have a repsentative in parliament. a non-hungarian could only enter if : a). he was austrian or b). he accepted to magyarize his name
As I wrote already, AUHU wasn't a democracy, and he wasn't the heaven of the minority. And as I wrote a the Romanian minority had incomparably more rights in AUHU, than for the Hungarian or for the Bulgarian minority in the Romanian kiingdom. If you would study your country's history, you would find out which was the most oppressive country of Europe. After Dobrudzsa was annexed by Romania what kind of status were for the Bulgarian, Turkish, Russian, Tatar etc. population?
I wrote it about the Hungarians' "rights" in Kingdom of Rom. already. If the Hungarians's rights would be similar in Romania, than reverse, would have been at least 200 Hungarian elemental school, 1 grammar schools, 1 teacher-training colleges and 1 Hungarian theology there. Similarly, if the Romanian relations would have been applied in Transylvania, then would have been there neither Romanian school, newspaper, bank etc. But - than we know - the Romanians had their fundamental rights in AUHU.
The Romanians did not have a representative in the parliament because the passivity was the guideline of the Transylvanian Romanian politics, that is the full rejection of the Hungarian state, they did not nominate a candidate in the elections in the spirit of this. The so-called activists' guideline prevailed after the turn of the century, the first representative (Aurel Vlad) it was elected in 1903 in Hunyad county.
Of course is much more popular to propagate it, that the Romanians' public appearence was banned, than to write the truth, according to which the Romanian politics himself rejected it the participation in the Hungarian parliament.
Franz Ferdinand had planned to radically redraw the map of Austria-Hungary, creating a number of ethnically and linguistically dominated semi-autonomous "states" which would all be part of a larger confederation renamed the United States of Greater Austrian Under this plan, language and cultural identification was encouraged, and the disproportionate balance of power would be corrected. The idea was set to encounter heavy opposition from the Hungarian part of the Dual Monarchy
@nauneim1 Anyway what you say, is just half-truth ,Hungary was the first, wich wanted to give rights to ethnic groups, during the revolution, but they choosed to attack us instead,(except of slovaks, how ironic :) and the olmütz charter...
But, I think the monarchy didn't have a leader named Franz Ferdidnand, and if you are talking about the killed heir, then the ethnic groups can only blame Serbia...
@Askereiha -Which Empire You mean renew ? Both Austria and Germany in Aprile 1945 hed in its country about 2 thousand muslims. Today You have more then 5 milions ( Turks, Kurds, KosovoAlbanians & other garbage). -Austria do not have its own money, it have NWO valuta Euro.
-Hungary is almost BANKROUPT after robbery by George Soros&Zionist Company. So, with these cold days in November 1918, dissapeared Austria-Hungary...and Wien SHALL NEVER AGAIN BECOME "IMPERIAL WIENNA" !
In late December 1913 was established FEDERAL RESERVE ( Central Bank of USA ) like a privatowned bank.
Only 6 MONTHS LATER these WALL STREET BANKSTERS organized killing of Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo and pushed world in Great War, to make more money, and more money, and more money.....
Hát igen, Budapesten fele akkora épületek vannak mint bécsben, és kevésbé díszesek, dehát BP csak fele volt bécsnek a századfrodulón. nyolcszázezres BP nem versenyezhetett a kétmilliós Béccsel.
Offically just these two towns were the capital. Zagreb, Prague, Triest, Innsbruck, Pressburg, Debrecen etc. were also big towns, and cities, but they were no administrational and leading centers.
In a way I miss the old world European monarchical empires... they look so grandiose and beautiful. The aristocracy is so alluring but you have to remind yourself that those worlds were not perfect, so many starving peasants and paupers in those wealthy countries while the rich enjoyed their lives.
what ? it was much better when the hungarian kingdom was independent. like during the rule of the árpád dynasty or matthias corvinus. franz joseph was such a bad politician, he wanted a war when ah monarchy was full of minorities who wanted to secede ?
Not as great as the German Empire ;-) Anyway, the late 19th century was for sure a great time for good ol' Europe... what do we have now? Moslems are invading us, our politicians are nothing but money-mad cowards, the European culture is being destroyed... tz
Austria wouldnt agree to that. And the reason why Bismarck opposed a simple annexation after the war of 1866 was that he wanted Austria for a strong ally... well, how strong it really was we saw in WW I...
The way I see it, Austria-Hungary did not lose the war because they weren't strong military speaking..They booked major successes in the east and in the Balkan..They lost because of the multiple terrorist organisations within the empire..Austria-Hungary had many terrorists, if that's the word, within their own borders during the war...And so did Germany..
AH was successful in russian balkanian and romanian front, and AH monarchy was successfull against Italy until January 1918. Itala went to collapse, USA help Italy with aids.
But even though the German Empire was very glorious and should be admired for so fast a rise to power, Austria-Hungary is 'greater' because the Monarchy managed to keep together multiple nationalities and steered them to great welfare... Look where all those nations are now! Independent, yes, but at the brink of marginality, excluding Austria.. And this is simply because of the weak , corrupt democracies in those countries..And not only those! Democracy destroys us all..
As Winston Churchill (who is in my opinion the most important war criminal of WW II, yet never tried due to political reasons) said: "Democracy is the worst of all government forms... except all the others we have had before" (not an exact quote)
Prague has a lot of impressive buildings from this era as well, despite we didn't reach the Austro-Bohemian Ausgleich and Prague therefore didn't make it to the comparable capital status. Nice vid.
derdeutschungar! The 'peace and no hate" was maybe in elegant cafés of Vienna, among the conquered nations frustration and anger only grew and grew - that is why the IWW broke out ....
When I left Hungary, in 87 just before the political change, and had seen Austria, I thought :would like to see what we could of became by the eighties if we stayed in the Monarchy. No one has the answer. And I have the same question today, even more relevant wondering these days. But I sure miss both Budapest and Vienna from Canada :) Nice video!
Yes, but Austria and Hungery too! Now we live in a little and powerless states only for oppressing of other nations in Monarchy by Germans and Hungerians. They killed wonderful idea!
and the tribes, who have forgotten, what the hungarians did for them for example many slovaks..
I know about the polish hungarian brotherhood and the croatian and slovenian friendship...
The old community was a great thing and all partners could profit...and it was peace and no hate..after trianon the hate began and lots of eastern european countries hate each other now
The music is by a German composer Johannes Brahms and its title is Hungarian Dances. So we can call it Russian under no circumstances. The pictures wants to show the original capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and also it's heritage that still stands, that's why it includes new pictures too.
That's all Austrian architecture ;-)

OK it's true that Bucharest's architectural style was based on Paris as many of the Romanian architects studied there. I really like the CEC building and the Palace of Justice in Bucharest, but unfortunately most of the buildings from that era were bombed by Germans or demolished by Ceaucescu.
EuropeTraveller 2 years ago
Otherwise I think the buildings of Cluj Napoca (Kolozsvár) and other towns are nice as well and worth visiting by tourists arriving in Romania. Doubtlessly the buildings of Vienna and Budapest were based on a Paris Hausmann style as well, often designed by French architects and engineers inc.Western Railway Station or Margaret Bridge, Budapest. In the XIXth century Budapest was called The Paris of the East and Bucharest was called The Little Paris. But none of them are as majestic as the Paris.
EuropeTraveller 2 years ago
@EuropeTraveller:you're right indeed about the architecture,1correction though:theGermans were driven out quickly before they bombed much, only the formerTheatre building and some depots were lost.About a third of the currentBucharest, swollen indeed by the commies with blocks, remains a fair copy ofParis.Ceausescu didn't demolish the important state buildings,he destroyed a lot of mediaevalRomanian churches, unfortunately(commie atheism),and very many normal houses.Thank you for your attention.

090148komaska50 2 years ago
The Austrian Empire was that but the new Empire, Austro-Hungary from 1867 until 1918 was a kind of EU of its time. And this EU were annihilated by the western nations.
EuropeTraveller 2 years ago
Austria-Hungary wasn't democratic at all. It had eleven distinctly different ethnic groupings, of which only two, the Germans and Hungarians (who together accounted for about 44% of the total population) wielded any power or control. he other eight groupings (Czechs, Poles, Ruthenians, Romanians, Slovaks, Serbs, Slovenes and Italians) hardly wielded any power at all, only some Croats and Serbs had limited autonomy in the Kingdom of Croatia and Slavonia
nauneim1 2 years ago
AUHU wasn't democracy naturally. But he was incomparably more democratic, than any of the other countries in the area. Schools with a Romanian language in AUHU. Approximately 3000 beginner's schools (6 classes), 2000 repeating schools (3 classes), 6 high schools, 7 teacher-training colleges, 5 industrial schools, 7 theologies. Approximately 2,5-3 million Romanians lived in minority without Hungary, (Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Macedoromanians in the Balcan) they did not have one single school.
jozefporta 2 years ago
Romania denied his minorities simply. Like this minority school, newspaper, mass on the minority's language, party, representative etc. not may have existed. It was taught to the Moldavian Csángó Hungarians, that to the Tisza river is Romania, Austria comes after it. Hungary does not exist. The Romanian state supervised all curricula, minority denominational schools may not exist. There was total Romanian national dictatorship. However Romania slaughtered his own citizens too in 1907...
jozefporta 2 years ago
Franz Ferdinand himself had planned to radically redraw the map of Austria-Hungary, creating a number of ethnically and linguistically dominated semi-autonomous "states" which would all be part of a larger confederation renamed the United States of Greater Austria. The idea was set to encounter heavy opposition from the Hungarian part of the Dual Monarchy,
nauneim1 1 year ago
@nauneim1 Yes, of course I know this. However the Monarchy's minority politics was one of the most tolerant minority politics in the world in this time, how I wrote it already.
jozefporta 1 year ago
@jozefporta lolza. you say that most oppresive govenment in europe was tolerant. serfodom within austria was only abolished in 1848. you know had serfdom back then? backwards russia. all the other european countries renounced serfdom starting with the 16th century and all trough the 17th centuries. also until 1905 the non-hungarian nations were not allowed to have a repsentative in parliament. a non-hungarian could only enter if : a). he was austrian or b). he accepted to magyarize his name
adijarca 1 year ago
As I wrote already, AUHU wasn't a democracy, and he wasn't the heaven of the minority. And as I wrote a the Romanian minority had incomparably more rights in AUHU, than for the Hungarian or for the Bulgarian minority in the Romanian kiingdom. If you would study your country's history, you would find out which was the most oppressive country of Europe. After Dobrudzsa was annexed by Romania what kind of status were for the Bulgarian, Turkish, Russian, Tatar etc. population?
jozefporta 1 year ago
I wrote it about the Hungarians' "rights" in Kingdom of Rom. already. If the Hungarians's rights would be similar in Romania, than reverse, would have been at least 200 Hungarian elemental school, 1 grammar schools, 1 teacher-training colleges and 1 Hungarian theology there. Similarly, if the Romanian relations would have been applied in Transylvania, then would have been there neither Romanian school, newspaper, bank etc. But - than we know - the Romanians had their fundamental rights in AUHU.
jozefporta 1 year ago
@jozefporta Learn history. Are you from Gyula? You are a romanian minority in hungary
celebration81 1 year ago
The Romanians did not have a representative in the parliament because the passivity was the guideline of the Transylvanian Romanian politics, that is the full rejection of the Hungarian state, they did not nominate a candidate in the elections in the spirit of this. The so-called activists' guideline prevailed after the turn of the century, the first representative (Aurel Vlad) it was elected in 1903 in Hunyad county.
jozefporta 1 year ago
Of course is much more popular to propagate it, that the Romanians' public appearence was banned, than to write the truth, according to which the Romanian politics himself rejected it the participation in the Hungarian parliament.
jozefporta 1 year ago
@jozefporta You are wrong. Romanian had represantatives in the Hungarian parliament. Learn history!

The music is by a German composer Johannes Brahms and its title is Hungarian Dances. So we can call it Russian under no circumstances. The pictures wants to show the original capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and also it's heritage that still stands, that's why it includes new pictures too.
