@Reb0rnMaster shut up who freakin cares justin bieber has nothing to freakin do with this u must be in love with justin for saying that on a song that has nothing to do with him
This was a HUGE hit back in 1989, right before my Senior Year in High School...Back when life was easier, & had absolutely no stress at all, before the explosion of the internet, & major cell phone usage...When you made plans to go out & meet friends before you left your house & HAD to find a pay phone if needed...Yet it seemed less stressful NOT to have a cell phone attached to your ear...OOOHHH,so many great memories crammed in 4:42 of this song ;)
Cool story: I saw Jeff play in 1989 or 1990 in Winnipeg at a small venue. The entire time Jeff blew the roof off of the building and I had no idea that Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman and CF Turner were all standing in the same area as me watching Jeff do his magic.
Moral: Jeff Healey is a boss and has some awesome fans. At one point Burton was singing along to Angel Eyes. Being a guess who fan I nearly pissed myself in excitement.
I think to dislike is the wrong word. You may not like the genre or this version, but I see no way to not admire talent. This man was a great talent, regardless of his music style. I personally love his music, talent, style and choice of music. He is missed.
Anyone that dislikes this, while I DO appreciate your opinion and that you have your own taste in music, I have to say that you're an idiot... This is talent on a level that people that just don't possess very often in music... It's just a shame that the Healy-haters on Youtube (probably some goth or emo douchebags) have to have some jackass screaming into the mic in order for them to consider it music... To quote the late, great Patrick Swayze, "He played pretty good for a blind white boy..."
Seriously....... How could you not admire the talent that Jeff Healey had. Im a Metal fan but even I envey what this guy could do especially being Blind. If you dislike this video you really have no idea what a great musician is. No idea at all.
i did not meet Jeff ever, but i miss him so much. He is my hero forever. The part where he sing "what did i do, what did i say" brings tears always to my eyes.
This is one of the prettiest songs ever written and performed. It warms my heart every time I hear it sung. The man I love used to sing this to me.... I miss hearing those beautiful words from such a great talent.
Played this on guitar for my wife's bday a few days ago and she loved it! Now I'm working on my own version of the song, and plan on recording it as a little gift to my wife. Not gonna be easy though, since I'm playing all the instruments lol Thanks for the wonderful music Jeff! You are sorely missed! R.I.P. brother!
Got married 11/22/08 to my wife, I knew this would be our song the first time I heard it. Couldnt have picked a better song to show off the special bond we have. So sad that he left this world so early, R.I.P. Mr. Healey you are still here with us at every single wedding though........
i wish i was born in the 70's or the 80's so i could grow up listening to this type of music... in the 90's all we grew up listening was a bunch of wanna be players and techno garbage for the most part. that's realy all that made the headlines anyways.
I'm 21 years old and I remember dancing with my daddy to this song throughout my entire childhood. Jeff Healey's music will live on forever in my heart.
this was my parent's wedding song. my dad played guitar and sang it at their wedding. of course it was a romantic day. but now their divorced, and neither of them can stand this song.
Met my husband in 1989 too, but things turned out diff. ... we didnt end up together, but found one another again after 24 years and rekindled love, and I showed him this song, and the memories came flooding back. Me oh my, how a song can remind us of a love once lived and come back around again. :) Thank you so much for sharing, and rekindling a love.
Learning this song on guitar so I can play/sing it for my wife on her birthday, coming up in a month. This song describes exactly how I feel about her. Especially the lyrics "what you're doing with a clown like me, is surely one of life's little mysteries" because she literally could have any guy she wants. But here we are, married for 7 years and still very much in love with eachother! She truly means the world to me and I'd be empty without her.
Years ago I was seeing a girl I worked with. Shortly after the start of our affair, I made he a tape with just this song on it. On her way out to lunch, I handed her the tape, and tole her to play it. When she got back, there was a huge smile on her face and a fire in her eyes. She looked at me and said, that song made me so wet, I want to rip Your clothes off and do You right here and now. Of course we had to wait till later that day, but thanks Jeff, for one hell of a panty remover !
When I read the Biography of his life. I just cried and cried all night. My husband didn't know why. I didn't tell him. He went blind at the age of 1 year. At the age of 2 his Father a Fireman had bought him his first little guitar. What a horrible thing for a child to endure. You know his parents were totally distraught as well. He is the best of the best. Great man.
the guy was born blind but didnt care, he didnt let it get him down and made a fortune and made it a good life, thats what i call inspiration, go jeff healy!
@cementfrog your right, he had rare eye cancer and had to have his eyes removed. Artificial implants put in. He died of cancer in 08. He was from Toronto, and was discovered by Stevie RayVon. A great talet. RIP, Jeff, you are missed!

this song brings back lots of my memories when i was teen age student ..even though i am a Taiwanese ,i still always play and listen to it over and over again at night .it is sad Jeff has gone...,but his music will exist forever !!
@OpiumFemale777 I just realized how cute he was ;) i used to listen to his music on a good old walkman in the 90´s and never saw any videos. now here on youtube i realized how handsome he was. a little off-topic but can´t ignore that as a woman ;))

@2121beastmode Maybe blind people see things we don't and can write songs we can't. this is sad because they have to live their life in darkness to gift us. Honestly i am not selfish enough to say this is good. I'd rather let Jeff see his wife and children
I had such a crush on this beautiful man. I love this song!! Yes he was blind and sooo gifted with his vision through music, but I'm more amazed at the people that have sight and just can't see. He lives forever in his music!!!!
i think if he was hear he would say pat attention to my music for it is who i am. todays artist although have passion they are to young to understand this song. i have been married 14 years, i really understand this song. when you win love both inside and out then you know why you are listening to this song. being thankful for what you have. and that my friends he jeff could see. this song is amazing i think jeff would have givin us so much more. angel eyes a true love song.
@onetimejay Damn, we know he was blind, WTF has that got to do with it! i'd like to think that he can see now, better than us. Or maybe he alreday did.
Oh my. From his heart and soul to ours. I of course never had the pleasure of meeting Jeff Healey, but if I had I would have thanked him for putting my thoughts into his words and music.

Oh my. From his heart and soul to ours. I of course never had the pleasure of meeting Jeff Healey, but if I had I would have thanked him for putting my thoughts into his words and music.

The term soul mate is false doctrine. There is more than one person compatible with you.
