  • A fair episode i should say but it was Penguin's debut no doubt, Paul Willaims was good playing the part.

  • Does anyone else think the two kids look like the Master and his girlfriend form The Brave Little Toaster?

  • @Burnettski9292

I never thought of that but yes i do now.

  • I'm relieved to find I'm not the only one who thinks this is the worst episode in the series. I really, REALLY love BTAS, and it's probably my favorite show of all time, but this just... I'm not sure how to describe it. At best, it's at least decent... Y'know, for a kid's cartoon.

At least there's the "Destroying this place could only improve it!" line, which I have to admit is kinda funny.

  • So I'm guessing I'm the only person who likes this episode.

  • This is the episode that you love as a kid but you find out isn't so great when you grow up.

I'll always be fond of it in part for being one of the very few true "kid" oriented BTAS episodes in the series, but unfortunately that's the very reason it's so bad. ;P

Plus, there are some neat shots of the Batmobile in this episode if memory serves.

  • holy shit!! I remember this episode like it was yesterday!!

  • I just watched this episode today!

  • @vishalisfreakingout Yet they had no problem with Batman sounding like a grumpy Bruce Wayne...>_>

  • Man, that was probably the worst ep in the entire series. It doesn't help that Penguin is kind of non-threatening, and it stars a bunch of generic kids. Now that I think about it, most Penguin-centric episodes were pretty mediocre, except perhaps "Blind as a Bat".

  • Worst. Episode. Ever.

  • this was the first episode that aired here in germany. too me, as a child, it was STEAK SAUCE! and it made me become a huge batman fan

  • God this episode sucked......and for some reason i always remembered the joker coming in?

  • I have to say despite the fact I LOVE this series to death I can't help thinking this one episode was probably the worst. It may as well have been called Home Alone: The Gotham Edition. But then to be fair what kid WOULDN'T want to use Batman's weapons to fight the bad guys and have him in their basement?

  • It must be weird to see the mere gentleman owner of the downtown Iceberg Lounge killing Gotham's Dark Knight with an umbrella.

  • Man, why all the thumbs down on these comments?

Fantastic, fantastic series, but God, this was the lamest episode of the entire show.

  • Fox had the best shows on those days.

  • i know :'(

  • hmmm i'd love to have batman defenseless in my basement hee hee hee

  • agreed! goodness, I really miss the animated series - reminds me of the good old days (sigh)

  • Wow...you're kinda awesome.

  • .......... cyberkitkat u need help :O

  • I miss those daysT_T

  • I don't think its the fault of the writers. Original Writers who worked on this episode lost hope on developing a serious Batman for the audience. BS&P damaged many of their great scripts.

  • @konway87 BS&P?

  • Man , one of the worst eps of the entire series.

  • @wrath231

i don't know why many people hated this episode.

  • @johnnymcallister2 I personally dislike these type of episodes because they star bland children (I believe there were only a few episodes like this) and they remind me of PSA where no matter how natural it is written Batman takes a backseat -sometimes even made powerless, like in this episode-to some lame message that really doesn't seem as epic or as profound as one in an average episode. I personally didn't really find an engaging story or moral in this episode. They're all still good, though.
