  • you r a boring guy!! techtips doesnt suit u!!!:(

  • arcticsilver.c-o-m/methods.h-tml

  • OMG. One of the most boring and incomplete lessons I've seen on here. Waste of time. Sorry.

  • I don't care how you feel, no offense.

This video is a poor demonstration and explanation from a technical viewpoint.

Lack of precise information, failure to demonstrate the procedure at hand...IT'S VIDEO.

    A waste of time.

Should have used a creme as an example, laid the bead, shown by measurement the size of the bead. Explained why too much or too little is a problem.

Whatever happened to cleaning the surfaces with Isopropyl alcohol first and perhaps wearing gloves or fingertip protectors?

  • All that grease from your finger, GAHHH!. It's making me angry.

  • Wronggggg never spread thermal paste, it forms air bubbles!! do a line across the cpu

  • how long does thermal paste last for on the cpu

  • I apply it by squeezing all the paste into my mouth then spit it out all over the motherboard evenly :)

  • @iiapplejacksii you should be dead

  • its not an art, its not hard stop making it. put a drop on spread it out thin and evenly put the heat sink on. or put a green pee size dot the just put the heat sink on top of it the heat sink will spread it out for you an less chance of air bubble's pick one an just do it . whats that stupid saying 6 and one half a dozen in the other. it the same shit.

  • @siekiersk I agree but some thinks there a science behind it that why I made the video.

  • i am using colgate tooth paste from 3 months... it work and cool my gpu 5C more than nvidia orignal thermal grease...

  • If you have direct touch heat pipes then the line method is best as you need to make contact with all the pipes

  • silver 5 thats only for Stock coolers right ?

  • @badassnoobie No its one of the best TIMs for any cooler mostly aftermarket but for stock it can help lower temps also. You can use it for video card coolers just be sure to not get any on the PCB as it conducts electricity and will damage your hardware.

  • Never ever use Intel crappy stock heatsink with fan. Always use aftermarket cooler.

  • @PhotonicDoctor A aftermarket cooler is only useful if you plan to overclock. The stock intel heatsink is fine.

  • @iisStillAlive Even of someone is not going to overclock, do not use intel cooler. But whatever man. If u like seeing 60C on idle then by all means use your pretty, fall in love intel cooler. I am using Hyper 212+ and my temps are between 30-45C. The 45C is load by the way. I'd rather spend a few dollars on a nice cooler that will last several years, then spend more money on a burned out cpu.

  • @PhotonicDoctor I agree even at stock most Intel CPUs and there stock coolers are terrible. You can get a cheap aftermarket for ~20-40 dollars I do not see why you wouldn't for such a low price. Isn't your $100+ chip worth it?

  • @ComputerTechTV try telling that to still alive guy. And u too are correct. I'd rather spend 100 like Noctua which I might because my P67 UD7 Mobo and ram can handle it. Then go out and by another cpu for same price. When it comes to computers, its very important to have the right cooling.

  • i just use peanut butter and when the system fries i have a nice cooked pb&j comp sandwich

  • who doesn't love youtube ?

  • @Sandor0611 Everyone commenting on this video must since it was made long time ago.

  • HTIS IS THE CORRECT WAY TO APPLY THE PASTE,,

  • Why does evryone say "pea sized" that is way too much. Plus peas vary in size lol can we get something with a standard size like a BB.

  • a thermal paste lesson with out using thermal paste...gotta love it!

  • @MrMexicanZombie It is kinda self explanatory, now I have a better camera I will remake this video for the third time.

    Thanks for watching.

  • @MrMexicanZombie mhm rocket science without any rockets xDD

  • @MrMexicanZombie agreed

  • do not use Credit card, it makes air bubbles you of all people should know this

  • @Zraupp10 Good info!

  • @ComputerTechTV yep, pea sized dot is the best method

  • @Zraupp10 we prob do, but if we dont use a credit card, what else?

  • @runetimon No CC needed just apply small amount as stated in video twist a bit when you set the cooler and mount it with brackets that came with cooler. Be sure not to take the cooler off and reapply as it will cause air bubbles and you will have to redo the paste or temps might be high.

  • @Zraupp10 How should I apply it, Im using Ic Diamond 7.

  • @TheAustin3184

Really? lust put a pea size in the middle of your CPU,

  • @TheAustin3184 Same just a small sized drop in middle apply heatsink twist a bit and screw it down with the included brackets.

  • a little dot on the middle of the cpu and just putting the cooler on top is the best method in my opinion. ive tried different ways and this was the best working

  • what is the breakin point for silver 5, im thinking of getting V8 cooler, the Thermal cmpound that comes with V8, is that fine????

  • so..in 2 years i must change my old pc thermal paste..xa00xa0xa0x...but how am i going to do it....my sister will get the pc with her at the university xDDD

  • @lelos14 In stock applications if it is correctly done you are good for a few years normally.

  • can arctic silver 5 last 8 years+++++

  • @thebestkid13 depend. Only if you keep it clean or dirty free.

  • @thebestkid13 I forget to say. When my laptop have overheat and have a lot of dirty, then it cause thermal to melt.

  • @Maul9999 Yes if it overheats it can cause it to break down.

  • @thebestkid13 Sure it would not sure how good the temps would be.

  • ceramique has a shorter break in period

  • @freiermuthj This is true and it is better for DICE and LN2 set ups.

  • @ComputerTechTV or for quick server fixes

  • i should do a line with heatpipe direct touch and a dot with normal flat heatsink

  • @Bob8673 I put a dot on any CPU no matter what and it works just fine. The die is in center and it will expand and cover if proper amount is applied.

  • is thermal paste required?

  • @maxamillion4536 Yes even when running ln2 or similar.

  • k, thanx

  • Great video

  • @CapitalGamer Thanks be sure to check out my channel for more videos about computers and tech.

  • Great review ComputerTechTV!

  • great vid ^_^

  • Since my computer Broke down in a weird way I've been educating myself a bit to be able to find out whats wrong with it... I don't know that much about computers but I've learned a lot of new things by investigating at youtube. I found thermal paste on my CPU, didn't know what it was so I removed all of that seemed old anyway but maybe I should buy some thermal paste and apply it. Thanks for this video =)

  • it might have helped more if u drew marker lines on the cpu .

  • sweet man good stuff and merry Christmas!!!

  • Great job and good info dude. I had no idea how to do this the first time and I wish I had this video.

  • very informational video and merry Xmas!

  • Merry christmas rick

  • nice video 5/5
