Well in my experience, making a lightsaber battle with the original plastic blade isn't very good because there too fat and too short, but when to put in canes or poles there alot better to work out the sequence and do the editting. So I would say yes ;)
I used the plasic toy lightsabers. Then I pulled out the plasic saber part then stuck in poles and held it all together with rubber cement (I'm very suprised how well it works). Its an awesome way to create good working lightsaber props for cheap ;)
