  • DANG! This choir is fantastic!! I wish the audio at the end was better though, but whatever it's still fantastic!

  • @lalahahajkjklol Yes that soprano was killing it

  • One thing that I love about Metropolitan is that they can sing Anthems, Hymns, Spirituals, Gospel, and Contemporary Gospel! Beecher Hicks is the truth and of course Richard Smallwood is the truth!

  • He is the same, yesterday, today and forever ! Praise the Lord, and Great rendition of a classic Hymn !

  • WOW!!!!! I LOVE THIS HYMN!!!! Great is His Faithfulness!!!!!!!

  • with ten thousand beside amen

  • As a Baptist ministers son I can tell you that is just as much Baptist as AME

  • Gave me chills! One of the most powerful performances of this hymn I've ever heard.

  • this is more ame then baptist...

  • I was thinking the same thing...and I'm AME....lol but it's beautiful nonetheless.

  • I have goosebumps listening to this; it's a shame the audio quality is so bad but still - WOW. amazing.

  • I LOVE the piano arrangement!

  • OMG!!! Where can I find this arrangement?

  • I doubt locating the music will be half as much trouble as finding John Stoddart on the pipe organ and Richard Smallwood on piano... good luck on that one.

  • Last Name Simpson-Currington

  • Simpson-Curenton

  • Thank you Jesus for Your faithfulness to us!

Thank you Metropolitan Choir and Organ....

  • OMG!!! The most beautiful rendition of my favorite hymn yet. The choir is just glorious and the organist is masterful. God bless you Metropolitan!

  • This hymn touches my heart...Beautiful!!

  • Psalms 150:4!!!!!! Good Job on the pipe organ

  • GLORY!!!!!!! My spirit is SOARING.... Glory be to GOD!!

Thank you for sending this to Youtube!!

I needed to be in the Presence of God today and this has taken me there...

  • Is this arrangement published anywhere? I really would love the opportunity to perform this piece.

  • All Praises Due To God

  • Excellence!

  • amazing! absolutely the essence of crescendo

  • Totally fantastic! Thank you!

  • Yes! God is indeed very faithful!! Can you imagine how Heaven will be when we the redeemed open our lips and sing the song of Moses, the Angels will be more than happy to have and hear us. May we be faithful to our calling Amen

  • I am down in New Zealand and I listened to this thru YouTube. I am just wondering where I can get this arrangement of this song from?

  • you can find it in any hymn book.

  • I love this song but I found this rendission rather painful on the ears! There are times when the choir seems in time - but times they're painfully out. The warbling lady is too - well - warbling! and the piano and organ seem to be fighting each other rather than complementing each other. Naybe you had to be there? - but from what I heard I'm glad I wasn't!

  • A wonderful delivery on the world's best choral setting of this hymn.

  • Actually the Guy Name playing the Organ Name is John Stoddart He's bless and gifted By God.

  • i ♥ u God!!.

  • This is awesome!

  • I could barely sit still in my seat!!! Whew YES GOD HALLELUUUUUUUUJAH!!!!!!

The Psalmist David wasn't lying in in Psalm 150.

    LET EVERYTHING!!!!!

  • I so agree with you AJLD1!!! Halleluuujah!!!!

  • Amen. Make a joyful noise unto God. Sing forth the honour of his name; make his praise glorious

  • Hampton VA, Please learn whent to use too and to

as you write your critique. People have arranged

music from the beginning and that's ok. We should never forget the Bach and what he left us. Oh, how can we because all music is based on the three B's.

    Brentwood, Tennessee

  • WOW.. i learned the true importance of HYMN#153 great is thy faithfulness in the pews of THE MET! and its carried me through the toughest days of my life.

  • The organist is Don Lewis he sells Rogers Musical Equipment. Hes been on Booby Jones. Richard Smallwood on Piano. What a diverse church. Awesome~!!!! Puts all this contemporary mess to shame! ANOINTED!

  • Amen I'm young and I love it

  • This is what the bible means when it says plays skillfully!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent! I always enjoy the music at Metropolitan. And the preaching is a blessed event in itself. Sing, Great is Thy Faithfulness

  • Refreshing.

  • John Stoddart cousin is the pastor of my church. He's a gifted singer as well.

  • Wow, I ran through some of these videos to see Nolan Williams direct, didn't expect to get Richard Smallwood in the deal. I hope I can be a part of a church like this one day.

  • I'm over here having CHU'CH MANNNNNNNN

  • The composer of the hymn would be discouraged if he heard the beautiful notes he wrote re-arranged. We need to play the composers music as written. Too much ad lib, and rearranging music, long..singing choruses to long....quarter notes held to long, half notes held to long Would love to here Bach played by this fine black organist. Do black churches listen to Bach,m who was one of the greatest organist that has ever lived. I wonder?

    Hampton Va.

  • Sir, while I can not speak for ALL black baptist churches, I do know that this one in particular does include the music of many classical composers in the repertoire of the music ministry. I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend the annual presentation of Handel's Messiah (oratorio). This is one of the longest running annual presentations in the metropolitan area.

The Metropolitan Music and Arts Ministry is known throughout the world because of it's vast range of expression.

  • Just curious of the denomination of this church - anyone know- The music is beautiful.

  • This version of "Great is Thy Faithfulness" was arranged by former organist and composer Evelyn Simpson Curenton. Written for our 130th Church Anniversary, It is our churches "theme song", because in the now 143yrs history we have seen the Faithfulness of God through all He has done to, through, and for us. It may be long as blackberry states, but short in comparison to all the blessings that we have received. As Groundhog says we are not singing it for man, but to God for His "Faithfulness".

  • Your choir came to our church, and sang this song, and one other which I can't remember. Ms. Curenton played the pipes for that song. I have a tape of this which I listen to every once and a while (I wish I had gotten the CD). If I am not mistaken they brought over 500 choir members with them. I have to say that they were amazing!

  • The pianist and organist are both quite good, but that arrangement just went on, and on, and on, and on... .

  • True, but that's what happens when you attend a serivce at a black church like that one. They ain't doing it for you or no one else; they're doing it to praise God

  • "True dat."

  • The Organist is John Stoddart. He is also a phenomenal pianist. No boundaries in terms of genres.

  • I Love Nolan Willimas....and of course Richard Smallwood.... However, who is that on the pipe rrgan...??? He's playing the MESS out of that organ.... That's simply beautiful....
