@oEwokx you must live in the USA, thats amazingly quick to get a surgery in canada. Im going to find out tomorrow if i need surgery. It would be only to fix the meniscus because MCLs can repair themselves. I got my ACL reconstructed 5 years ago and it helps a lot.
While your info is MAINLY correct, not ALL MCLs injuries can repair them selves .This is why they are initially graded .A Lachman's test is preformed by the orthopedic dr on range of motion ,Based on that he might suggest a scope and arthroscopic surgery to reattach the MCL's usally they WILL heal them selves if blood is flowing thru and some attached . One would really need have the scope and see how attached it is .Continued ....
@snowaydude Im not calling you out by any means but would like to clarify not ALL MCL injuries will heal themselves .
One would have to talk to their surgeon and tell them what they do for actives.
They would most likely so a scope and repair what needs to be done after looking at the whole knee .You most likely had stitches and some anchoring for your injury. Please update and let us know the results and how you feel up to date .
@RagingDemon89 No surgery needed for this injury. I had an ACL replacement 6 years ago but in Canada we pay for provincial health care coverage, so it costs nothing extra for a surgery.
Whats up man. I tore my ACL and my MCL on the 21st of February. I will be getting surgery of spring break. Did mine skiing! Had my MRI today.
