he's a good songwriter, and this is a good song, but it is unnecessarily long. Those 2 minutes where there's no piano should've just been cut out. It'd have the same effect. Don't get me wrong, i love this song, and that's really the only problem i have with it

We know his voice is dramatic in a situation that's already a cliche song theme (breaking up). But Andrew really can sing, write, and play piano all at the same time; to put so much emotion into the song like this is a rare talent and a major compliment to whomever he was writing about. Andrew McMahon started his own solo project called Jack's Mannequin. When the first JM album came out (called Everything in Transit), then was diagnosed with lukiemia. He is now in remission and just released his second Jack's Manequin cd, called "The Glass Passenger"

I don't know why he wouldn't play this song live. It would be the most intimate, thought provoking, crowd orgasm inducing song ever written by this man. He's brilliant.  I love these guys. Such a shame they don't exist anymore. We'll always be able to enjoy this plus 2-3 more masterpieces. Jack's Mannequin is sure to deliver many more. But none will be able to compare. Konstantine.
