im a 15 year old bodybuilder and the best things you can do for a starting workout is just basic things like the bench press or even a dumbbell press for the rest of the chest work with your legs a smith machine works for legs in some points but for big legs you want to use free weights so you can get the most isolation on your legs

@06aguillen HIgh reps with just body weight crunches u can do 3-4 times a week depending on how well your abs are already trained....if you're doing heavy weight abs every 5-7 days

@RexClay12 Abs will come from being lean. if you can't sacrifice them and you feel like you can't gain any muscle without gaining fat, then you are stuck. If you are 5'10'' 120 though, i would advise eating a shitton more and not worrying about abs. Because they will always be there for you once you stop bulking, and you probably wont be able to gain enough fat for them to look bad anyways.
@RexClay12 Dude if you want help here it is. Stop obsessing over your pre puberty no muscle abs / body. Not trying to be an ass but i was once super lean (skinny) like you. One day I just said screw it and I just did it (bulk). 2 years I went from 140lbs to 175lbs. I never lost my abs but I did gain ~3-4% BF. Eat big and eat clean. If you want muscle you have to sacrifice and you will gain some fat regardless. That is why you cut after. Don't obsess over your leanness . . . JUST BULK!!!
hi iam new to bodybuilding i was just wondering if someone can explain the plateu to me how do u get to a point were u are plateuing? any info will be greatful
so, i worked on my abs and had them since i was around 12. Now im 20 and trying to get those blocked abs. I work on them as much as i possibly can, and i still don't see any results. I usually work on the decline bench with a 20lbs on my chest, 20 reps with 3 sets, then also uses a 10 lbs with 20 reps and 3 sets. Is it possible that i might have torn my muscles and it can no longer grows? As of right now, all im doing is watch my diet and some cardio on my abs day.

Nick this is a great video. but i read around the internet and also from another bodybuilder on youtube called Scooby, that you should do 6 to 12 reps to get your abs bigger. But you say 25 to 35. So... idk. Could you maybe explain that for me please? and by the way i have trouble gettin my abs sore with weights doing 12 reps or less
@zebrazebra1990 u shouldn't do 6-12 reps for abs. Doing that will gain alot of mass. You want a toned/cut abs, not gigantic like the chest. usually people would do around 15-25 reps with very little rest ( 5-30 sec ) Also if you have to use weight, dont use too much.
for the kids that dont know a thing about bodybuilding below, he mentioned he was in off season if u didnt hear... his abs aren't gonna show much definition in this stage so lay off...hes in great bodybuilding shape for a teen.....

Is it normal that when I do the workout you're doing 6:10 I have weird bladder issues? Sounds odd I know, but after a while (especially on heavier sets) when hitting reps 20-30 I have this strong instinct to pee.
It gets really annoying since I'll have to finish the set (or cut it short) and head to the bathroom. Not sure if the crunch motion with the heavy weights causes it to press against the bladder, but wondering if it has ever happened to you (of if you've heard similar stories elsewhere)

doesn't matter. there is some evidence they respond better to low weight/high rep, but this isn;t 100% proven.
just start doing different exercises than you normally do, or add weight.
if you cannot add weight or reps, take rest and try again next time.

That is where leaning your upperbody into it (forward) as I demonstrated, comes into effect. It will help you target the abdominals. Also try bending your knees a bit.

@scondore One would say so. Just saying tho so people know. I see so many people in the gym doing crunches with hands behind there head its bad for your neck an not as effectieve just carious as to why you didn't mention it being you have some knowledge.
