@humboldtgunguy Do you mean the SR-25? Colt can't make rifles, it's been established. There is a reason why snipers use low-capacity, bolt-action rifles. It forces us to be more accurate. The SR-25 is essentially an assuslt rifle, you want to hammer that trigger. The SR-25 also lacks a forward assist and ejects the shells too hard. When I'm on deployment, what I love is my M40A3.
@MsDave1957 I don't think so. As a rifleman before I fed into the Scout Sniper program, I honestly love the 5.56. It was accurate to several hundred yards, and one could carry twice the ammunition compared to a 7.62. But as a sniper, I want the military to adopt the .300 Win Mag. There are times where the 7.62mm is inadequate and the .50 BMG is overkill.

@humboldtgunguy Do you mean the SR-25? Colt can't make rifles, it's been established. There is a reason why snipers use low-capacity, bolt-action rifles. It forces us to be more accurate. The SR-25 is essentially an assuslt rifle, you want to hammer that trigger. The SR-25 also lacks a forward assist and ejects the shells too hard. When I'm on deployment, what I love is my M40A3.

It was accurate to several hundred yards, and one could carry twice the ammunition compared to a 7.62. But as a sniper, I want the military to adopt the .300 Win Mag. There are times where the 7.62mm is inadequate and the .50 BMG is overkill.

Interesting that so many of these pics show the venerable M14 (old technology!!) fitted with a sniper scope. Once again, the .308 round proves it's superiority over the .223 crap that our military has saddled itself with.

i wouldnt say its crap, but we should allow the troops to choose between rounds, there is a new colt 7.62. it is awsome, and if i was over seas, thats what i would want. but again, its not the size that matters, its how you use it
