better yet why not introduce unlimited calling for one flat rate such as 3000 kshs for free nights and weekends. and also how about providing businesses with toll free numbers?
Safaricom has been having outrageous charges, which are beyond the reach of an ordinary Kenyan. It is for this reason that they easily rake in billions of profit at the expense of poor Kenyans. Reducing phone charges is not rocket science, it has worked in other countries and the same should apply to especially the third world countries.

In ukraine we have a mobile provider where the calls are absolutely free!Not free as such because one has to load an equivalent of 350ksh per month to activate the free calls.If such a provider exists,then it is very possible for providers in kenya to reduce their charges to as low as ksh 3/minute.Actually that is what is charged on average by mobile providers in Ukraine.
if YU can do it, Zain and Safaricom can do it. Sfaricom is just keen on getting billions of shillings profits but am sure they can lower their rates to 5bob across the networ if they wanted. meaning more calls, more subscribers, more profits...
Safaricom are the worst mobile server in Africa, still incapable of sending and receiveing international MMS messages which is pathetic.
