I'm trying to figure out why ppl are comparing stock car racing(NASCAR) to formula racing. I mean, they're two completely different classes of racing and to comparing them is just idiocy. Personally, I favor SCCA and Le Mans. I never really could get into F1. The parading effect and the concept of shifting buttons on the steering wheel was just a turn off for me.

F1 wouldn't succeed in the US because a large percentage of the people are not interested in small, high revving motors. Unless it's a giant. low revving V-8 that has a driver with the last name of an American brewing company who's married to his 1st cousin then nobody will be interested.

@slick88zx I'm American and love open wheel. In my opinion no racing could compare to Champ Cars. It's a fucking shame that they are not around anymore because I absolutely loved hearing those turbo charged beasts. They did both road course and ovals. I would love nothing more than to see F1 in America. There are a lot of good tracks here.

i love nascar and f1, nascar is as basic as it gets, takes muscle and guts to drive, all about the driver though, f1 takes some serious balls but is too much about the machine... gah i love the sound of both though!!!!!!! nothing like loud, fast cars :)

That happened cause of the restrictions laid down by the FIA on the sport.For safety reasons and to make the sport more callenging they come up with certain restrictions every season.For example for he 2010 season,the ecu supplied by Mc Laren to all the teams has a rev limiter,mandatorily at 18500rpm.There are more restrictions laid down on the aerodynmics hence the wings and the body of the car look very different.

They are RIDICULOUSLY LOUD, it's like people shooting off guns right beside you constantly. Like 5 people shooting guns, it's just not even funny how loud these things are. You can hear them from far away from the track too.

Are they limiting the exhaust noise? I've been to Red Bull Street Parade a year ago (you can check out my video) and the sound the 2 cars made are just patheticly quiet.And the burnout wasn't a big stuff,I excpected to be louder... So are they have a limiter in the exhaust system or what? O.o

Yes, this is shows, partially, how inefficient the Honda engine was, sound being a form of energy, the greater the amplitude created by the engine, less of that power is used for actually propelling the car forward.
