  • I love my XDM 9mm and have only been shooting for about 6 months. I have been pretty accurate until today I had a bad day so I came home to do some research only to find that I am focusing incorrectly, and my sight picture is off for the xdm. I appreciate your videos they have given me much to practice on.

  • The XDm is by far the best bang for your buck. I don't know why it is always said to be more expensive than the glock. I bought an XDm 40 bitone for $589 total. In comparison, the glock 23 gen4 I bought just two months prior cost me over $600. The glock didn't come in bitone and I got 3 extra mags and mag pouch with the XDm. Oh and just to let everyone know, I've had no problems with the XDm but I've had two failures to eject with the glock using the exact same ammo. Class dismissed.

  • Great site picture explanation. Great post. Thanks. Thinking about the XD-M but may go with a Taurus instead.

  • @goodshot5 taurus guns are among the lowest quality, and have a reputation for it. Like u know how glock is synonymous with reliability? well tauris is synonymous with failure. among most people anywayz.

  • Great site picture explanation. Great post. Thanks. Thinking about the XDM but may go with a Taurus instead.

  • @goodshot5 U R NUTS if u go with taurus over XDM. If you were going 4 wheeling would you rather have a ford escort or a jeep? get the XDM man. no comparison.

  • how much would a gun like this run for dose anyone know?

  • @lilbolin60 600-700$

  • @lilbolin60 Im actually getting mine for 537 out the door.. but its on sale right now

  • question:

is a .45 too much for most women to handle? I've never fired a .45 but the store has a .45 and a 9mm for the same price and I'm wondering ammo price/availability/pracitcality which one's the best choice for my 1st handgun.

  • @sdoutdoors1 I dont notice a huge difference with recoil over a 9mm and a .45. The 9mm is a little more snappy depending on the platform. You can learn to shoot any handgun caliber. Recoil is not hard to manage on anything as long as you remember to let the gun recoil on its own and come back on sight after.

  • It looks like there is some side-to-side play when you have the front sight blade in the notch of the rear sight. Does the front sight fill in the notch a bit better when your arms are extended?

  • @nards91 Yep but I will probably get after market sights added later on.

    :)

  • any thoughts/experience with SW m&p line vs. the XD?

  • So how do you clear the gun if there is a round in the chamber?

  • @JerrySpoor Here are the basic steps.

    1. Point the firearm in the safe direction

    2. Remove the mag by pressing the mag release

    3. Pull & lock the slide to the rear

    4. Visually inspect the chamber to make sure its clear.

Wpn is clear = your good to go!

    :)

  • @SafeArmsReview does pointing the weapon up or down count as a safe direction?

  • Comment removed

  • were you ever in the service?

  • Yes - over 20 yrs

    ;)

  • what branch?

  • army

  • really nice vid man!! question, what about de lock?? is there any thumb lock like in 1911 models?? or just the 2 that you just mentioned

  • No physical lock like 1911s

It does have 3 safeties and you can learn more by checking out the springfield armory website.

    :)

  • Nice job with the site picture explanation. I have been trying to explain it to my son. I showed him this video and now I think he gets it. Thanks.

  • I'm glad I could help.

    Thanks for watching.

    :)

  • Simple, straight forward, informative. Thanks Steve.

  • your welcome

    :)

  • only thing is that Springfield armory has produced these guns with the "6 0' clock" sight picture in mine meaning that the gun will be at 6 o clock from the target where it hits. with my xd im all over the place. is there any tips you have found to find that bullseye better??

  • depends on where your rounds hit

If u hit high then ur wrist is breaking up

if low ur pushing forward or dropping ur head too much

if rt then too much thumb pressure or too much trigger

if left then slapping the trigger

I might do a vid on this topic, cause a lot of new shooters are having similar problems.

  • Hey SAR:

Great vid series thanks a lot. Was looking to trade in a .243 remington with a scope on one of these and watching your vid sealed the deal. Thanks a bunch bro.

    Keep safe,

    Chefinator

  • No problem, glad I could help.

    :)

  • dam good instructional vid-my buddy at work bought this gun and now he is sellin it to me-watch out in Porter ,TX

  • LOL

    thanks for the compliment

  • Just another point , I have seen people that let there hand ride up to far. I mean someone how has never shot, they dont relize that the slide comes back, on the XD it dont matter , the big tail stops your hand, but something like a HighPoint and your going to the hospital.

  • yea thats another reason I like this firearm - its easy on the fingers.

my wife and daughter like it a lot.

    :)
