15 will be louder because of greater cone area..your moving more air then that 12..your 15 will drop down on the hz. your 12 wont get down as low as the 15 so if you like the low bass you can hear from a mile away grab the 15..make sure you have atleast 4.5-5 cubes for it depending on the amount of wattage.

It seems like a better idea than having the cone moving around a shaft holding the tweeter in the middle, more surface area for beautiful bass production. You should sand the box down really well, paint it gray to match the carpet, then for the baffle board paint it a gray, (make sure it is fully dry) then lay down some masking tape and do a tribal design, then paint over that with glossy black. Remove the tape, and you get a sick gray tribal design. It would look SiCk. Know what I mean?

yea man, i gave my buddy an old prefab box for 15"s...had his amp on the back.. The back face of the box pretty much cracked all the way...the only thing holding it together was the carpet....started slapping the amp, then it stopped working. you could hear one of the pieces in there rattling. But he was under warranty so he got a new one

Check out some carbon fiber style vinyl kits, like Rvinyl, you would need to paint the box first and use some gloss for best results but a grey fake carbon fiber goes well with grey carpeting, if it's not too homo to put in a van that is..
