Its price range from $579 to $899. FYI, Samsung's core line of four HD camcorders--the HMX-H106, the H105, the H104, and the H100- are nevertheless relatively large, and larger than a typical card-based model. The models are identical save the built-in storage, which starts at none (SDHC card only) and tops off at 64GB.

Are the Samsung SSD Camcorders H104, H105, H106 identical? I believe the SSD H104 is 16gb, SSD H105 is

32gb and SSD H106 is 64gb. Is there anything else different between these 3 models?

Exactly, you're through those product. As I mentioned below, H-series was came with the same features but those are different in part of internal memory. FYI, at full-HD resolution and when set to fine mode, users can record up to 3 hrs directly to the 16GB H104, 6 hrs to the 32GB H105, and an unparalleled 12 hrs to the 64GB HMX-H106. Is that helpful? what is the difference between the H106 and H100 except the SSD?

Unlike the other 3 models, it does not have an internal SSD but requires a SD/SDHC card. Thanks to the H.264 compression, users can record up to six hours of full HD video on a 32 GB SDHC card, since on average people record only 30 min of video each time, this less expensive model is a good choice for the regular users.. Getting ready to order on myself. My questions are: I've been using WMM to edit current camera footage. Editing as in, clipping and adding audio. I know WMM will not open or edit MP4's, either will my Roxio program. So, how is the software that comes with it for editing and saving for upload, or burn to DVD. How is the final burned to DVD quality? How long does it take to dump, say an hour of footage from camera to PC? Does the software have a "Easy" single click to go from Cam direct to DVD?

H106 has a own edit program, intelli-studio in the device. So you can do anything you want except burning into DVD with this program. When you use the intelli-studio, can upload on youtube directly your clips.

The H106-series supports still-images up to 4.7 megapixel (2880*1620). However, it does not support the "slow-motion"-mode, which may be known from the R10. However, if you're looking for a camcorder, which supports both, still-images as well as, slow-motion mode, you'd check out the HMX20.

"VP" stands for the PAL signal-type which is being used in Europe, whereas, "SC" stands for the NTSC signal-type in Nother America. And C, just descriped the memory capacity of 8GB. The HMX20 is a good product, but please keep in mind that the H106 has improved in all areas, not only in terms of quality or comfortability. Additionally, the H106 is the first and world's best internal-SSD storage driven camcorder on the market.

I can answer few of those. Slowmotion-yes

720p 1080i -yes 24p-yes focusthingy-yes flash- no but has some feature built in to support lowlight filming which is one of the best around

The H106 does not support "Slow-motion"-filming. However, you can shoot intervall-sets in HD.

Compared to other formats, the H.264 has tremendous advantages that make it the best suited compression standard for security applications. Furthermore, it offers high image quality on top of low bit rate and low storage requirement. The reduced size depends on the settings, you'll make but you can expect a reduction of 20% and upwards.

For 3) Yes. Less memory is the only signifant difference.

Thank you for being interested in the H106. Other than other camcorders the H106 is smaller and lighter, but nonetheless it provides a much better picture quality. I just uploaded a video, I've made with the H106, and I can assure you the quality rocks the shit. Resolution is 1080/60i (HD ofc) and 2880x1620 for still images.

I'm sorry but i cannot understand what is the point of giving a brief review on a camera if you are not going to say anything on the quality of the footage.

Also i don't see a poing in comparing ssd with hdd and the right question i think should be ssd vs sdhc and why shound one go with a stuck inside 64gb ssd vs 2 cheaper 32gb sdhc which can be removed whenever needed. Why should one go for h106 over h100 for example, what am i missing?

Wow, that's a detailed feedback. We compared the H106 and the HDD from a "internal storage"-standpoint, due to SDHC being an external storage media. Our point was, the H106 supports SD memory, but foremost, it features an interal 64GB SDD, which is technically far better than HDD. And for the price, the H106 is surely attractive. Isn't it? We thank you for your interest anyways . We are going to upload another video in the near future featuring the quality-aspect.
