BTW, I run Ubuntu 7.10, played the entire Orange Box and play ETQW on a Dell Dimension 9150, with NVidia Card (had 8600 but it overheated, Palit sucks), 2.5GB Ram and Pentium D 2.8Ghz (which happens to be a 64-bit processor, just found out).. I'm running 7.10 64-bit version of Ubuntu on it now..

But I'd just get a Dell..

Wow this was back when I had 7.10, I'm now running 8.10 and I got a number of Windows games to run on it like Oblivion, Portal, Half Life 2 (completed the whole orange box in wine), TF2, etc.. Flatout 2, COD4, Left4Dead, etc.. Also installed it on a 200 dollar Thinkpad T30 I bought on ebay. So who cares, I care..

Psystar computers are good but I still wouldn't get one because it doesn't have all the great bonus' a mac has.

If you want the 400$ Psystar to be a MacClone, you have to add at least a Firewire card and OS X, which makes it 600$.

For the same money you can get a sleek MacMini.

I can understand why you'd get a genuine Mac but you can't compare a Mini to a clone. The $600 MacMini has a T5600, 1GB of RAM and an 80GB hd. That CPU is almost 2 years old. The hackintosh has an E4500, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hd. Even the $800 MacMini specs don't come close. BTW a PCI IEEE 1394 1 port card costs $10 not $45.

Apple has just not cared about the mini since its release. That is why even computers like the macbook passed it in performance.

Apple, IMO, should eventually introduce some sort of midrange tower that fills the gap between the Mac Pro and the iMac.
