You'll just end up falling off and you'll have a bunch of mane in your hand.
@Chipisdabest9 - have you ever seen someone fall off in the circumstances you have stated? whenever i fall i always hold onto the reins and grab mane. grabbing mane helps you to balance yourself, and can actually save you from falling, if done right you can also use it to balance yourself on the way down and land on your feet.
@sarahluvsponysxx verry horribly ;D (if thats a joke ;D) otherwise, if your serious, with alot of skill ;D gripping your knees pings your legs out from enclosing them around the horse, and overall ruins your position, your not ment to 'grip' just have your legs on your horses sides, i sit with my ass and hardley ever fall now ! xD

@NikiandTurbo well if you let go of the reins in the first place the you wouldnt drag the reins over the horses head hence letting his legs get caught...if you do hold on yes you are likely to get trampled or dragged along...=/
i love how at least half of these falls could have been avoided if they had practiced their flat work more and had stronger base of support before jumping fences that over-faced them and their horses.
Ok to any haters! You can't ride perfectly every day! Falls happen and things go wrong, and we were all beginners once, so no hate! It doesn't make you look cool or better.
it really looks like all these people need to take a course in balance. i know it's hard to never fall off, but many of these falls could be prevented :-)

Started jumping 2009 and now I'm jumping 120 to 135 cm, I ride every day I have 4 horses, so it make me like these guys in this video a beginner, SORRY to say I never fell like this I did fall max 10 times since 2007 but not like this, my point is get your self a good trainer before you get hurt.
@kanan360 I have fallen off AT LEAT 250 times in 5years, my coach is an ABRS examiner who has to go to different countries to asses peoples riding at times. Falling off so many times means that when i do fall i dont hurt myself because i actually know how to fall properly therefore i am much less likely to hurt myself.

@kanan360 You don't need a dressage lesson to perfect anything. Just because of their jumping position, that doesn't mean anything and the seat itself over jumping as nothing to do with dressage. You can have the best trainer in the world or be the best trainer in the world but everyone has their off days and are going to fall off. Not everyone has the perfect seat. Infact most just ride to have fun. Clearly the riders were having an off day. You don't need to be a perfectionist.

i'm not trying to be horrible but the fall off at 1:32 is not really funny...i have that happen to me a few weeks ago and really hurt i ended up in hospital having a neck and back brace on, 12 x rays...wouldnt really call it funny

But none of the people (or horses) were injured seriously (according to their video descriptions and comment replies etc.) I agree that falling off isn't always funny and never is if someone is seriously hurt. however when your not seriously hurt sometimes as riders we have to look at our falls and laugh so we don't freak about it happening again :) But I can see your point and I hope your ok now! :)
