  • I usually use a longer rest to get through my plateaus. I increased my bench and squat yesterday after 2 weeks rest. It's wierd how the body works... How would I go about to actually do the big excercises 3-5 times/week? My only aspiration is to get stronger. Kevin talks about doing singles with a comfortable weights, is it important not to work to failure for strength progression?

  • @martinboson Yes, for "limit strength" training this is almost always true - not to failure

  • reminds me of when i started benching 185 for six reps and i hit a plateau. good thing i broke that by resting otherwise like you said, it posed a potential for injury.
