How is the skill to remove this vessel from the water in tact nothing short of amazing? It hit the water at close to 180 mph and didn't fall apart. Why would it suddenly fall apart when being lifted slowly out of the water?
@tylervet Asstrong as an aircraft may seem, it is actually very fragile. Stress applied to the wrong areas will make it literally fall apart. Skin in some areas is as thin as 0.016" The weight of water will make it buckle or even pop rivets. That's why the water had to be drained slowly.

@tylervet they bring it up slow enough that the water drains out and not to break it
