  • 3:13 "The Star of the County Down" =) Such a beautiful tune!

  • I heard John Tams in an interview today say that Spielberg saw it at the National Theater and liked it so much he bought it. He also mentioned being consulted since he crafted the music that was so well done by Tim Van Eiken but the music is tied into the English folk traditions that were a major part of the story and the soldiers that fought for King and Country. I love Williams and there would have been more music needed and changes in structure so I won't complain, much.

  • Simply because it's Steven Spielberg directing "War Horse" and he and John Williams have been collaborated for decades. A Steven Spielberg movie without the music of John Williams would be quite unusual. Sole exception: "The Color Purple"

  • Absolutely gorgeous music. 1:50 - 2:06 sounds so much like John Williams.

  • guys, they couldn't use this for the film, it is a film ... this was written for a stage show

  • THIS IS MUSIC FROM THE STAGE SHOW!!! PERIOD!!! THE MUSIC FROM STEVEN SPIELBERG'S WAR HORSE BY JOHN WILLIAMS...IS NOTHING LIKE THIS...IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND MOVING...MUCH BETTER. It is much more lyrical.

  • Absolutely beyond amazing.

  • "stunning" would be inadequate; it's far more spectacular than that.

  • I feel sure that John Williams will do his usual excellent job, but why is it necessary when the original score is so totally outstanding?

  • @skinnjes spielberg's film is based on the book, not the play. it is not a film version of the play. therefore, there is no "original score". these are two separate interpretations and presentations of the book, therefore the creators were original in their own ways. but all three works are absolutely fantastic

  • stunning Ade !

  • Alas John Williams is slated to be composing the film score-a bit sad about that, although understandable. I adored Adrian's score-utterly compelling, moving and, while original, it still had nuances of Vaughan Williams and other British composers. Bliss.

  • I hope Spielberg will keep the music from the same.

  • i had shivers the entire way through the play.

  • Crying my eyes out to this remembering how I felt watching this play.

  • Absolutely stunning music. Just sat here with my eyes closed and remembered the show. Adrian Sutton and the RPO a perfect combination!
