I played it today for about 2-3 hours. I had hoped for more I think and was a bit disappointed in both graphics, load time between areas and the sense of being in a world.

I'd give it a 2 out of 5 and unfortunately an un-install tomorrow I think :(

@Silfverr Too bad. The game is actually great in terms of quest and story and the overall gameplay, and role playing elements. It has a good mixture of fighting and dialogue parts. Thw quests are interwoven in a magnificent way and the game is highly sophisticated. The graphics were alright...but seriously, graphics shouldn't be in the criteria for a good game otherwise go play crysis or something like that. The load time isn't much of a problem for me, it takes like 5 seconds.

I agree about graphics being very secondary to gameplay, sense of immersion and storyline. Vampire just didn't grab hold of me w/in the first 2-3 hours in the same way as Titan Quest, ToEE and FF has done in the past.

graphics shouldn't be the main issue but for example if you were to make a game for the PS3, sure you wouldn't need the best of graphics as long as the game is good but if it's ps2 quality then most people will not like it, i just look at what time and platform and then compare graphics, on the PS3 my standards are high, but with old games like starcraft i don't mind that it's really just pixels moving around

True this game was put together by amatuers. But a user in the planetvampire community named wesp5 made unofficial patches fixing the bugs a glitches, it's almost perfect now.

As for long load times, I run a Radeon HD 5870 and the load times are only 1 second.

It's pretty much about the Camirilla (the good vampires) avoiding being revealed to the human society...because then there would be mass trouble for the vampires,hence 'masquerade' in the game's title :)

Ive got the game, and i've nearly completed the game, I'm in Chinatown now, which is the last town, so I don't think that the controls are that bad.

People are used to playing games such as Crisis which have supearier controls, but this game was just in beta.

yeah but i couldnt pick up 1 enemy's weapons 2 other thiungs, such as the money for mercurio at the begiinning, so i could not finish the quest completely and that sux!!! And for me personally the contols are very important, another good example it tomb raide rangel of darkness, where i also couldnt get further in the game and i had to remind maybe 25 buttons or so for different actions-....but Vampires is so awsome with other things!

Actually, Vampire The Masquerade Redemption is the sequel, as Bloodlines is the prequel.

Completely different games, however. Troika is Troika...

Umm wrong, Redemption takes place in 1141 (Middle Ages episode) and the modern episode actually takes place in 1999 whilst Bloodlines takes place in 2004 so Redemption is actually a prequel to this game.

Jeanette is not meant to be the main character, the PC is. Jeanette was probably just chosen for the cover because of how iconic she is and how many view her as "hot". She was just meant to be a representative of the game and I think that works pretty well. Plus she is one of the first of the "main biggies" that you meet.
