@pwrshots ? Bullshit, No new car and I mean NO New car matches the torque and all out raw power and feel to a Old car. Thats why I can't STAND to drive these new fucking cars
@DarthKrieg13 1970 Cougar Boss 302 Eliminator might be more cars just off the top of my head.In 1968 you could get a 429 boss in a Mustang biggest stock motor I think you could get stock from ford.
@DarthKrieg13 Yes, its a 1969/70 Mustang. You *can* put a different engine, including a big block, into a Boss 302, but then it wouldnt be a boss 302. It would be a Boss 302 body with different engine, not a Boss 302 ci engine.
@TransAmDrifter its actually 390 hp and you dumbass its a purpose built car to honor the original boss. It's a track car plain and simple and the new true laguna boss 302 that was approved by parnelli jones dominated the m3 the first day of testing on laguna seca.
I'm only 14 and Im already saving up to buy a 302.. My dad has one but he has 13 other mustangs.. But he won't give it up or sell it.. And he does nothing to the others and ugh it just pisses me off..
i'm currently in the build of a mustang using a boss 302 body and trying to fit a 434c.i. ford eliminator underneath the bonnet that should make 750 hp and keep the ford fans happy
yeah i know they're legal, but i've already thought about putting a carb'd motor in a 2005+ mustang and would not be street legal since thats not the engine that came with the car originally. you'd have to pass all the smog tests with stock cats(can't upgrade the cats in cali).
Well, I'd just build a retro car, like a '70 Challenger from the ground up, register it as a retro car (dumbass bureaucrats won't know) and then I can stick in whatever engine I like and be excepted from Fed/State law.
The Carburetor was a mechanism designed to more effectively combine oxygen (air) and fuel so that the ratio of fuel to air was properly proportioned which would allow the internal combustion engine to function.
In other words, the accelerator pedal would be hooked up to the carb valve and this valve would open more the more the pedal was pushed down. This increased the ratio of air to fuel, and let the engine get more air which means it had a great output of power.
@racoonpooon What the fuck are you talking about? I own 10 Cars, All Carb, and my main Vehicle a 1974 Ford One ton dually flat bed is Carbureted, So is my Volkswagen beetle and they're all street legal and driven on a regular basis. You won't ever see me own a Fuel injected car unless I do it myself, Because I'm not paying my lifes fortune everytime something goes wrong to fix it.
@BBBsyankeeassistant you must have been mistaken by my comment. i love carb'd engines and would love to put one in a new 2005 mustang. unfortunately california law does not permit me to put one in. if i could i would put a 302 or a 351 in a heartbeat. unfortunately smog emissions are much stricter today. that carb'd engine would have to pass the smog regulations for 2005, not the year the engine was built. which means evap systems, egr systems, pcv systems etc all have 2 pas
i dont know how to explain myself but lemme try..... i want thos kinda mustangs that u can go off road and on road with something that can get dirty and still look good like a 68 or a 66 the boos looks like those cars u must keep clean everyday of ur life but hey this is my opinion
both are cool but the original is the best, 05-09s are great but 2010 are UGLY. Ford should bring the classic 64 1/2-70bodies back haha, with an option of fuel injection or carburation.
didi you hear that-the guys from ford racing wanna come out with a brand new boss 302 woho 2011 baby probably and he just confirmed the 5.0 hahahah how did i miss that . and no irs is coming dudes i KNOW. bossssssssssssssssss BABYYYYYYYY YEAHHHHH
Even cooler, Ford released a 350cid engine that normally puts out around 500 bhp, but with an ecu can be made to chuck up around 600 bhp--without a supercharger!!
It's a crate engine, so you'll have to install it yourself, but it sounds like Ford is becoming what they used to be--a car enthusiast's company.
This isn't a 2010 Boss, this is the 2008 Galpin version.
Btw, Ford recently confirmed the development and inclusion of the Coyote V8 5.0L engine coming into the 2010 Mustang. I'm not sure if it's stock or an optional extra. However, stock it produces 400 bhp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
That's not bad at all. Also, rumor is that Independent Rear Suspension is coming around 2011.
right now, Mustangs use a live axel, it does not provide good maneuverability and handling. IRS lets each rear wheel react to its surface separately, allowing the car to turn better. If Ford was really serious about offering a performance car, they'd offer multi link geometry as well.
"We haven't dynoed it but I'd say about 400-425 hp". I hate it when guys guess because they grossly over estimate. Kinda stupid he supposedly races it but never dynod it. I think it's a trailer queen. It doesn't look race used at all.
Miss Amber are those real 1984 all american tits? cause those are some sweet fun bags! by the way can i feel the power of those thighs? they look powerful. i can check out your rear axle, and make some mods if you'd like.
I really like the 1970 Boss that they show. its a real bad ass car. The other looks like shit. It looks like a big, fat blue blimp with wanna be gangster rims on it. I swear I hate those big ass rims on muscle cars. A nice set of magnum 500s would be fine. Anyways, that was a bad ass '70 Boss 302.
Totally agreed. The new mustangs are "fat" looking and lack the sleek, sexiness of the old mustangs. The only new "old" muscle car that I think most closely resembles it's past installemnt is the Challenger SRT 8.
the new one its probably better, but guess in what was it based on! the old model of course which i would rather have 1000 times. my goal is to have one parked in my garege and spend all my freetime restoring one, that is if i can find one.
Learn to type and write you little 14 year old bitch. You could not "kiLL" an C6 Z06 (Even an older C5 Z06... it's a question of weight and gearing dumbass) "corVets" with a "427 cobra Jet" seeing as Ford never made a "427" CJ, even if it was supercharged. Final fact, Roush doesn't make a "cusTuM" suspension for the 68 Fastback or anything older than the early 90s for that matter... And in all your other videos you're a Pubescent Teenage DUMBASS.
my own opinion the '70 302 is definetly the best looking mustang. its awesome power and handling for its time period and engine size.... and high revving! my cousin didnt have a rev limiter on his boss and would run it up to 8 grand all day long. callypso coral is my favorite factory color. set of cragars... mmm mm
Really? The old boss 302 only did 14.7 in a 1/4, 13.8 with a good set of tires or the 429 Low 13s with the drag pack. Now compare that to the new shelby or the 2003 cobra? Can the old Boss hit 160 MPH? Umm no. Not to be an asshole but the TECHNOLOGY of today is better than that of yesterday.
The Boss 302 was not designed for blazing Quarter Mile speeds; if anything it was hard pressed to get out of it's own way even with a tail wind. Rather, it was designed for very high RPM with brutally fast cornering (vis-a-vis the Trans Am platform) in which it patently excelled. Likewise the comparable Z-28 from Chevrolet of '69 and '70. Note however that the Z-28 had to pump out nearly 2,000 additional RPM in order to match the power output of 290HP which the stock Boss 302 produced.
Oh, they are. This is true of many of the current crop of Muscle Cars. I believe it was Car & Driver that pitted a 1969 'Vette w/427 against a ZO6, and a 1970 Boss 302 against a Mustang GT (I forget the year). In both instances the newer breeds blew the older away. It's technology; they're lighter with newer alloys, computerized for fuel intake and timing, the whole bit. Even in in the Salom, the older ones just couldn't keep up.
Having said that, I'd still take the original Boss 302 in a heartbeat. I bought a 1970 Boss 302 in 1973 with only 32K miles for (ready to cry?) $2,375.00. Roof slats and rear spoiler as well. The Dual Point Distributor had been blueprinted by 'Dyno Don' Nicholson. Unfortunately said car slid on the ice and hit the first post of the guard rails which resulted in, amongst other damage, the block having a hairline crack. I know what that would be worth today; I try not to think about it.... :-(
I couldnt decide which I liked more, the 2006 looks sweet and the 69-70 Boss is without a doubt the best looking Mustang ever produced....so I bought em both.
All Boss 302's (69-70) had the 302 Cubic inch engine-solid lifter w/ Cleveland style heads. Mach 1's 69-73 had different choices of motors (except the Boss 302 or Boss 429 motor in 69 and 70).
Mach 1's 03-04 had the 4.6 litre DOHC engine (Cobra motor w/out supercharger).

Unfortunately said car slid on the ice and hit the first post of the guard rails which resulted in, amongst other damage, the block having a hairline crack. I know what that would be worth today; I try not to think about it.... :-(

Yeah but the fact that it is 30 years old makes it desirable.

@SceneOneVideo: $2,300 is around only $11,000 today. Cars really were a lot cheaper back then, even adjusting for inflation.

I couldnt decide which I liked more, the 2006 looks sweet and the 69-70 Boss is without a doubt the best looking Mustang ever produced....so I bought em both.

Define better.More valuable sure, but obviously it doesn't perform nearly as well.Define better.

Better means it has that certain feeling about it. That Aura you get from touching, living, and breathing in that piece of art.

does mach 1 n boss 302 have same engines?
raiders604 4 years ago
All Boss 302's (69-70) had the 302 Cubic inch engine-solid lifter w/ Cleveland style heads. Mach 1's 69-73 had different choices of motors (except the Boss 302 or Boss 429 motor in 69 and 70).
Mach 1's 03-04 had the 4.6 litre DOHC engine (Cobra motor w/out supercharger).

thx bud

The standard Mach 1 engine was the 351. You could get a 428 CJ (cobra jet) in it, but that cost extra ;)
