  • i like your video. I'm just getting into hiking, and i think bull gap to cheaha will be my first overnight hike. i have to get into shape first.

  • I think I carried about 3 liters (more than I needed) into the wilderness area after Adams Gap. After Adams Gap I only went about another 3 miles and camped. I used some of the water that night for cooking and the next morning for coffee. It was cool the next morning when I hiked on to Cheaha and I probably did not use over a liter.

  • From Bull Gap to Scotts Lake there was absolutely no water. From Scotts Lake to Talladega Creek there were several dry seasonal sources. Talladega Creek was the last reliable water after Scotts Lake. I actually drove up to Adams Gap the Monday before this hike and hide water just off the trail - enough for night #2 and to get me to the state park trailhead the next day. From Talladega Creek to Adams Gap there were some dried seasonal sources. In the Cheaha Wilderness damp spots only.
