I'm 37. I've lamented past relationship failures and even was brought to tears watching this poor old miser see his love walk away forever. Before you beat yourself up consider that in the real world the women might have left later anyway. Perhaps for a richer old man who had more free time :). Seek out love and I hope that you attain it from an honorable woman. But don't beat yourself up and keep making that money. If nothing else it does help in just about every matter in our lives.

imo, "You... You..." is the best song in this production. It's not the best song ever written, but it's so emotionally evocative, & thanks to Finney's spot-on performance, you see & hear Scrooge's eternal regret, recalling all he lost. I tear up every time.

While I think its good to make sure things are straight financially, the ones that we care for NEED to come first.
