Basically these are four highly esteemed musicians. Yo Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlam being arguably two of the best soloist in the world. It was so cold (The instruments wouldn't have stayed in tune) that the musicians recorded it in advance so it wasn't live. This video is a joke because what you hear is just awful ( on purpose). it's more of a musical joke. Hope that helps :)
