The thing is, she didn't have a clue how long he passed out. So if he was passed that brain damage point, she had no way of knowing. Putting your hands on your face and making an OMG face doesn't help his circulation.

Assisting breaths? Who does that? Lay him flat, elevate his legs to get oxygenated blood to his brain. This is where knowledge of katsu comes into play as well.

What would you think the death/not death ratio for people who have been fully choked out in a legit BJJ class is? If not so bad, perhaps its their experience that made them laugh instead of freak out...

I don't have a clue. However, I've seen people injure themselves after I choked them out for demonstration purposes. One guy who totally blacked out, got up like a crackhead and ran for a window in a 2 story building . Missed the window, hit the wall and fell back down.

He realized later he had claustrophobia bad and the last thing he was thinking was I NEED AIR!!! I've had people go into convulsions and it really should be more controlled than just "OMFG" giggle.

All's well that ends well.

It's obvious this instructor knows how to apply a quick acting choke.....Looked as if her volunteer was fully KO'd less than ten seconds after she applied the pressure.

Apparently the instructor was kind of embarrassed by what occurred...Can wonder though if she was also a little amused and pleased.

She wasn't applying a choke. She was demonstrating a guillotine escape and she paused to explain the little details such as cupping the wrist while her arm was around his neck, blocking his carotid artery and his right shoulder into his other artery and for the sake of the demonstration he wasn't moving so it put him to sleep.
