  • And by how much more faster do the these polymers degrade?

  • Well I see the point you are making. But the real underlying problem, is that though this could help slow down environmental repercussions of using oil, we still never the less rely on an abudance of oil to sustain an abudance of Carbon monoxide. So, having seen this at LEAST 20 years ago would have "been nice"

  • does this increase my probabilities to get laid??

  • Brad Glocar said said have invented the catalyst. Catalyst is a name for all reacting components in science. They have invented a substance which acts as a catalyst.

  • Um, one of our main sources of CO2 is from oil...same with hydrogen. I still see no light at the end of the tunnel.

  • We exhale CO2, you tard. It's the waste of the world.

  • While it is true that we exhale CO2 along with every other animal in the world, our primary source of industrial concentrations of CO2, O2 and hydrogen all come from oil. Check your facts before you call someone a tard. We COULD extract the CO2 from the air, but we currently don't.

  • But just like plastics of today do these pose the same hazardous/deadly effects to the human body?

Or are you merely an advertisement for a company that sells these plastics that use 50% of the same deadly material to us?

    O_0

Where's the human health issue with plastics here, your only talking about the planet? Not to say that's bad, but..

    Just wondering...

  • The question should be, "Do these proposed plastics degrade completely at the molecular level, or do they act like the plastics in current use?" At present, micro organisms take up plastic and they are concentrated at higher trophic levels where they become a danger to humans. Why aren't we using more biodegradable plastics made from hemp?

  • Cool!

  • awesome

  • interesting to see the free market of ideas at work.

  • kool but i think scientist should always double check things... im still going to try to aviod plastics

  • I am with you!

Can't wait till plastics are fully-biodegradable

  • Me too, but I imagine there will still be a need for some non-biodegradable plastics. For example, plastics that are to be used in the presense of or to contain substances that eccellerate the biodegradation process.

  • Lets makes all plastic like this...

  • Nice :D
