I just re-read David Foster Wallace's A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, and more specifically David Lynch Keeps His Head. He mentions this entomophagy, hence my re-viewing this jazz. Whether or not it is a bug, the suggestion is wonderfully obvious.
i love how the all the effort of filming the set pieces and actors is ok, but the sounds made when dennis hopper is walking around the apartment is copyrighted. fuck WMA, i hope a terrorist bombs their building of ineptitude
One of my favorite lines from the movie: "it's all over", followed by the cut to Frank Booth with brains splattered all over the rug. Oh yeah, fuck WMG. Cancer on the entertainment world. We all hate you.
The movie ends with a "bookends", as it started with the peaceful suburban setting and the disturbing beetles (being eaten by the bird). When she hugged her son, it was quite a moving scene for me first time I watched this over 15 years ago when I saw it in VHS.
Really nice and deep film. Kyle MacLachlan, Laura Dern, Isabella Rossellini and Dennis Hopper showed brilliant acting. The ending was just awesome. I miss the 80's and 90's - best era in cinematography
Fuck, i wrote something as an answer to someone who wrote a stupid comment. Then I realised I answered to a comment of myself. Next thing I know is that I was watching a clip of a film called "lost highway" or something like that. Fuck, it´s a strange world....
No offense to people who like this movie, but I seriously have no idea why this picture is considered a 'classic'. It was decent, but not great by any stretch of the imagination. 'Lost Highway' and 'Eraserhead' were way better IMHO.
@ChucksterOLove really? oh well, to each their own. i agree with lost highway and i did like eraserhead, but i really thought lynch hit his creative peak with this and twin peaks. anyway, no offence intended; different opinions make the world go round. just to show there's no hard feelings, i'll send you a love letter motherfucker, straight from my heart! :) cheers
the bird is dennis hopper reincarnated.-----and does anyone know what happened to laurie spezzano ????---dissappeared in the 80s from south australia--(missing person)
No, the bug is Frank, the crime underworld that Jeffrey stepped into (as shown in the opening scene of the movie with the bugs under the grass), the robin is Jeffrey symbolizing that Jeffrey (robin) got Frank (bug) at the end and all was well.
And I'm superior because I'm not awfully vain like you and I don't insult people with no reason, son of a bitch. I wasn't mocking LTstudios, I was just kidding. What the fuck you want from me? Don't meddle in things that don't regard you! BTW, you mispelled my name and didn't begin with capital letters after the full stop, imbecile. Go back sucking your grandfather's dick.
Justice! Every man must pay for his mistakes, but a shot in the head is not a punishment for Frank's horrible crimes, it's a liberation! Just a bullet and you don't feel anything anymore.
That's so sad... Frank's victims suffer in the most horrible ways while the responsible for their pain just leave this world without suffering! Doesn't this make you fucking angry?
frank was suffering before hand anyway. Why do you think he was hurting those people in the first place? Wouldn't torturing frank make you as bad as him? But, you got to admit that head shot was pretty slick.
The slickness of that head shot doesn't make it the right thing to do. And I don't agree that torturing Frank would make me bad as him, because people like him are NOT people, they're inhuman monsters without any dignity who deserve to suffer, while Frank tortured innocent people and he made a poor mother live in hell.
Well he is human, his actions are powered by human parts of the phyche. He's actions are understandable yet uneccesary, your view of torturing him is the same, a natural part of the human phyche which uneccesary. You would be just as bad.
Using the word "interesting" I wanted to say that the fact you speak english worse than me is interesting. And I saw that you're english watching your account, every user's country is written in his account, except for the ones who ask to omit it.
Anyway, you should be very proud of being english because you can only be ashamed of being italian nowadays!
Cheer up dude! When people know your nationality they actually know nothing about you! And who cares if you're english, american, armenian, danish or anything else XD
Nationality is nothing, your privacy is safe :)
Anyway, if you have something else to tell me, send me a private message because I think we are filling this page with misleading things XD
You Fuckers, we are all the same here fuckers, with love fuckers.

Love how they got the silencer right, having to manually chamber a round after each shot. No movie gets that right.
mrgarrison28 2 years ago 2
really, didn't actually know you had to manually reload the gun when you have a silencer on it :) i wondered what frank was doing.

great ending to a great movie. love the bird :)

Pick the clip's creepiest character:
(a) Frank
(b) the bird
(c) granny
My choice would be (b). Granny is a tempting alternative, but only when she eats (a worm?).

This ending isn't wonderful at all! IT'S PURE SHIT!!! Jeffrey had to shoot Frank in the balls, NOT in the head! He had to suffer, FUCK!!!

lol its a good ending but i agree it would've been nice if jeffrey like shot him in the leg and smacked him around a bit
